Sure, this sounds like fun. I've told the story before, I think. I was motivated to get my degree when a a consulting gig I got through an agency suddenly fell through a few days before I was to start when HR at the company intervened and said they couldn't hire me because I didn't have a degree. I found it a little embarrassing, and highly annoying as it essentially ruined my relationship with the agency and left me starting my search over.

Since getting my degree, I have worked for two large companies that would have previously refused to let someone without a degree through their hiring process. While I was enjoying similar pay at the smaller employers I worked for previously, it is nice to be able to consider a wider range of opportunities and to not have to have the "Where did you get your degree?" , "I don't have one." conversation at interviews

I was working in publishing for $38k per year, starving half to death when I reached my fed-up point and hustled through a degreeforum based plan.
After degree I got a job at a financial organization's marketing department where I now make $59k per year, plus 401k.
I thought I was doing well till I figured out what everyone else in my position in my industry makes and now I feel like I'm getting hosed. Onto the next opportunity!
