Seeking interviewees with non-accredited/non-traditional degrees for Ohio State Study
#1
Hello!

My name is Sam and I'm a doctoral candidate at Ohio State studying non-traditional colleges and universities. I previously posted on DegreeForum earlier this year so if this post looks familiar, that's why. I was able to connect with a few helpful folks here who I interviewed about their experiences with non-accredited colleges and universities, and I am still seeking interviewees so I'm here again. I know that these kind of recruitment posts can sometimes be annoying for people, so I do apologize in advance, but I hope this won't be seen as too off topic.

TLDR: Ohio State PhD Seeking adults who earned degrees or certificates from non-accredited colleges/universities for a 60-90 minute interview about their experiences.

Formal call for participants

Hello all, I am a doctoral student at The Ohio State University in the department of Sociology. I’m currently completing dissertation research on non-accredited colleges and universities and I am recruiting adults who have obtained a degree from a non-accredited college/university and would be willing to participate in a 60-90 minute interview via Zoom or telephone to talk about their experiences. I am interested in talking to both individuals who intentionally sought out a degree from a non-accredited institution, or individuals who were unaware that their college was non-accredited at the time of earning a degree.

Some examples of non-accredited institutions (with some nuances regarding accreditation in certain countries): Rushmore University, ENEB University, Alexandria University, Ashwood University, Corllins University, Frederick Taylor University, Suffield University, Pacific Western University, Thornewood University (note: your institution doesn't need to be one of these to participate, these are merely examples).

Your participation will help increase knowledge on these institutions, why adults might seek credentials from non-traditional colleges, and higher education more broadly.

For any questions or to participate, please contact me at mitchell.1857@osu.edu or fill out this Google Form.
