Thanks, I've spent most of this afternoon pouring over the old posts. I'm trying to post as much as I can to my homeschool parents too, so I'm trying to pull together the finer details.

This was as close as I could find for a relevant thread. Just thought I'd share the following from Nancy Parks at Pierpont (after asking about College Comp and AoS via ACE credits):

I'll have to wait to see what the CLEP comes in as; our college may or may not accept both parts, but a score of 50+ will get you credit for ENGL 1104 at the least.

Only credits that carry letter grades can count toward an Area of Emphasis. If you don't have an obvious area of emphasis, your transcript notation will say "General Studies."

I've sent Nancy Parks multiple e-mails about this specific issue in the last week. She initially said she would get back to be on Monday of this week but I haven't gotten a response. I'll update when/if I hear back for her.

Cookderosa, I was also looking into the BOG for a quick associates for my homeschooler. Just wanted to let you know that it has to be two years since you received your high school diploma to be eligible for the BOG.

That's too bad Sad

Could SL courses count toward AOE?

I don't completely understand this program, but after a quick look through their 2018 course schedule, it appears many, if not most, of their classes are not available online.

I've not taken a SL course, but aren't they pass/fail on the ACE transcript?

You don't have to take any classes with Pierpont. You just need to have 12 credits with at least one brick and mortar school that is RA.

I don't think it needs to be B&M, and online only RA school would still be acceptable if I'm not mistaken

Yes, thank you. I did post for the parents with an emphasis on it being for either older HS graduates or parents. Many of us have older children, so this could work for some of them.

I think you're right- I haven't come across any restriction other than that the college be RA and that it be CLASSES. So, with that probably comes the "graded credit" requirement, though I also didn't specifically see that.

So, any class from any RA college (not business) that results in graded credit on a college transcript (not ACE)- that would be a good rule of thumb to follow and you'd hit all of their requirements for sure. If you can dodge any of those, I don't know- I don't think you can.
