Hey folks, I recently received a reply about I should open a new thread to share my experience with LTI, I'll just share my experience for those who wants to get 6UD+6LD credit as a reminder.
I registered my Chinese WPT test few days ago and signed in to their ProProctor software 2 hours before my log in window(you can actually take the test like 6 hours before the appointment window), the so-called "readiness agent" will scan your room and they will literally look into every corner of your room. I admit my room is kinda mess, so I switched to my parents' room and the onboarding process was hell. After an hour I was able to log into my test, there was a pretest section to test your keyboard, I just skipped the process and that was my biggest mistake.
When I enter the test, I found my Chinese keyboard was not supported by ProProctor but there indeed is a Simplified Chinese hint on the bottom right corner, so I asked the proctor about the problem, she was like "You should stop the test and ask for technical help."
Then I quit the program and asked their customer service which is soooo annoying, there is indeed a automated bot and if you wanna switch to human representative, you should select the worst answers. If you chose a problem-resolved option, you have to start all over again.
At last I had to send emails to their customer support, and the best part? They re-arranged my exam and promised my input method would surely work.
When I got everything ready on the rearranged date, there was not a single hint telling me how to enter the exam and their customer service were sleeping due to the time difference.
I was totally pissed off and asked them to give me a full refund and because I was in a rush to get the degree, I just ordered a new OPIc before they replied. On the second day they replied with they could not give me a refund due to I already accessed the content of the test. Fortunately, the experience with OPIc was wayyyyy better than WPT and I'm waiting for the final score.
To summarize, if you are a foreigner wants to take the language test, do the OPI or OPIc, the OPIc is just a computer based version of OPI. I would recommend OPI because even if you are not comfortable talking to a real person like I do, the readiness process will also involve talking to a real person. But DO NOT DO WPT or the reading or listening, your keyboard might NOT be compatible with the ProProctor software and it would waste you a lot of time and money, and the listening or reading would not give you 12 credits.
