Sounds like the big stink that's always brought up with Penn State World Campus and Penn State University Park, Some of the degrees are conferred by UP, but people make a stink if you don't put "World Campus" on your CV.

I thoroughly researched this issue. World Campus does not confer degrees, so you should not put it on your resume or anything else. It will not be listed on your transcript or diploma. Your degree will be conferred by the campus that houses the department of your degree. It could be University Park or it could be another campus. On the other hand, Harvard makes it very clear that Harvard Extension degrees are not Harvard degrees and should not be listed as such.

But it's quite common for state university systems to have one name with a different city attached to the end. Each campus is its own university or college with its own ranking and alumni network. Take the University of California System for example. I believe Berkeley is ranked the highest. Merced and Riverside aren't considered to be on the same level. Which state is that that will have the new competency-based degree programs? They made sure that none of the degrees would be conferred by the main, highest-ranked campus.
