Nationally accredited program?

It seems that nobody is providing bachelors programs in alternative medicine, because none of the schools that specialize in that area are equipped to offer general ed. They all skip straight from associates programs to masters programs.

Liberty University accepts NA credits. See if they have anything. Everglades University and Ashford University have alternative medicine programs. Check to see if they'll accept NA credits.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked; the search tool is telling me everything I enter is either too long, too short, or too common. :/

I thought I had this process all planned out, having checked to ensure that my current school is US Dept of Ed-accredited, etc. so all my credits would transfer over. But I did not realize that there is such a thing as national accreditation agencies separate from regional ones, so TESU is accepting 0 of my credits. That makes for 66 (I think?) very expensive, very useless credits -- and honestly, just the idea of basically redoing every single course taken during my associate's degree is disheartening. I shouldn't have to test out of them or create portfolios; I already completed hours of coursework and passed final exams.

Is there another school that will accept this as transfer credit and still allow flexibility for degree completion, so I don't have to start all over? Or a workaround/appeal option at TESU? (I see that TESU has an option to submit an appeal to the registrar, but I also see folks here saying they never accept nationally-accredited courses for credit, so I'm not sure if that's a waste of time.)

My suggestion is Bastyr University. They are Regionally Accredited, and probably *the* only well respected RA alternative medicine university in the country. All of their bachelor's degrees "start" at the junior/senior year, so all of the students transfer in their 100/200 level credit. They are an Alternative Credit Project partner, which means you can use Straighterline and Sophia if you need gen eds. They accept Nationally Accredited credit. They do not offer everything online though, much is done on campus or through their study away programs (which are phenomenal btw).

I think your best option for an online degree, other than Excelsior's Liberal Studies program, is Liberty University's BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, but a lot of your credits will likely be free electives. Liberty accepts ACE credits and other alternative sources of credit. Join the Civil Air Patrol or some other emergency response, volunteer organization and get a 25% discount on courses.

Rather than starting over again id get an evaluation from those schools.

+1, I totally agree with getting an evaluation, especially to see who will provide the most credits.
Further to this, you may also check your finances, some schools mentioned are EXPENSIVE.

Excelsior College might be cheapest if you can transfer most of the credits you have into their program.
And complete the rest from known ACE/NCCRS resources for cheap, the only expensive cost would be the capstone.

What grad school are you thinking of going to?

If you are already going for an Associates from an NA school, you can always complete your BA or BS from another NA school.
For your masters, you can go through with Hodges, Patten, WGU or another competency based degree that accepts NA bachelors.
And for personal reasons, if it doesn't matter to you, you can also continue with an NA masters, but for a similar price, RA is the way.

I would look at EC's Heath Sciences Degree with a Health & Wellness emphasis. But, I can't look at their degree requirements right now to see what that entails.

I think that's the only school that will take those credits and fit them into a plan.

+1 on this recommendation, if you need extra credits after the evaluation is done. You can have most credits applied to a degree.
You can ask to see if those courses from Saylor, Straighterline and Study.com will fit into the missing education requirements.

The OP might also want to ask APUS if the alternative medicine credits can be used in APUS' General Studies major.

You guys rock! I'm still checking out some of these options. I would love to do Bastyr, but I'm on the East Coast and travel for school isn't plausible. (I have 4 -- soon to be 5 -- children I'm the primary care provider for.)

The graduate school I'm looking at is Hawthorn University (also a holistic health school -- for Holistic Nutrition).

If Harthorne will take a NA Bachelors just go pick up one of those and be done. I'm not a fan of NA pretty much for your exact situation, some employers won't like them either, I suspect that isn't a big issue with holistic health. Find "the big 3" of NA schools.
