Ethics in America using only Instant Cert |

Just took my first Dantes test ever this Saturday. Took 2 of them in fact.
I took the Ethics test using nothing but Instant Cert and I passed with a score of 437. Passing minimum is 400. I never studied the Practice Scenario sections at all. I probably went through the first 6 sections completely twice, and the two or three tougher sections a third time.
So, Ethics can be done with nothing but Instant Cert, if you are a good tester. I always test well.
I also took Here's to your Health and passed with a 452 / 400. I went through the Instant Cert material one time for that exam. It took me 34 minutes. Definitely a pretty easy exam.
I wish sites like this had existed when I first started college way back in the 90s. I actually took classes for most of my general and core classes, and it made college a very long process. At this point, if I can pass Technical Writing next month, I will complete two Bachelor's degrees from Regis University.

Does TESC have a credit bank? |

I haven't been able to find it on the site. Does anyone know if TESC offers a credit bank option like Excelsior does? It's basically a program where you pay about $750 at Excelsior and you just transfer all of your credits, CLEP, DSST, ECE, ACE transcripts etc to them and once you complete the degree req's they award you that degree. You can't take any courses for that payment, you can only transfer credits in.
It's a great program at EC but does TESC do it? I was wondering about doing that for a quick business degree from TESC. Any ideas? Thanks.

Minimum TESC Online class midterm grade? |

I know this is kind of an odd question, but is there a minimum passing score needed on TESCâs online classesâ midterms? I know that the cumulative grade for the class has to be at least 60% but does the midterm, too?
So for example, if I get a 60% on the midterm I can pass the class, but if I get a 59% I don't.
Iâm just curious if you can flunk a midterm and still pass the class. I checked the catalog, the student handbook, and the website and it doesnât mention it. I canât figure out if this is one of those random tidbits of info I have in my brain, or if Iâm just wrong.

Transferring credits from a CC to TESC |

I have a friend who is interested in doing TESC, but she had trouble during high school dual-enrollment. She has the following grades:
*Pre-calculus with/Trigonometry- F
*Intro to Psychology I- C
*Acting I- B
*Intro to Psychology II- F
*College Composition I- D
*College Composition II- W
She wants to know if her Psychology I, Acting, and College Composition I credits will transfer to TESC. If so, as what kind of credits.
Also, she wants to know if medical schools will see the remaining credits when she applies to one. Do the credits on the TESC transcript appear as transfer, or do they appear as residential credits?
I also have a question: If I take enough exams to reach the 120 credits needed for a Liberal Arts degree at TESC, do I not get a GPA? How does that work out?
Thanks all!

Hello all,
I'm preparing to take a few test and just curious if those who are experienced at taking these test, which do you find the easiest to take, Dantes or Cleps?
Do you feel the questions and answers are worded differently? can anyone give some feed back?
thanks!

I have just discovered the world of CLEP and am happy to discover the IC forum.
I have a highschool student who will be using this board.
Does anyone have experience reducing the time for graduate level courses?
I need to take the following courses for a Reading specialist endorsement.
The college I have my M.Ed. through charges $350 per credit hour and it would be 2010 before I could complete the program. The school has gaps in the schedul so if you miss it in one cycle you have to wait for it to roll back around in two years.
I would like to complete this ASAP.
EDLA 521 Integrated Literacy 3 sh Fall 2008
EDLA 541 Literacy Assessment 3 sh Spring 2009
EDDT 581 Language and Culture 3sh Spring 2009 (online), Summer 2009 classroom
EDI 631 Word Study 1sh Spring 2009
EDPC 601 Practicum: Literacy 3sh Summer 2010
EDLA 551 Dev. Effective Reading Program 3sh Summer 2008 and 2010 (This year is Aug. 4-8.)
EDLA 531 Literacy in Community and Family Arenas 3 sh Spring/Summer 2010
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
