Anyone have any idea how long until the results come back for this test? Does it matter if the written portion is electronic or paper?

Thanks!

  Worried about Marketing CLEP tomorrow!
Posted by: Fingerscrossed - 11-14-2008, 03:33 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

I have taken the Management and Supervision CLEP exams and have passed with no problem and by only using Instacert. Last February I took the Marketing CLEP exam and only used the REA study guide, and I did not study as much as I should have and was 4 points from passing. I am graduating in December and I need to pass the Marketing test I am taking tomorrow morning to finish my degree. I'm extremely nervous and I have studied all of IC and taken notes on alot of the material. Any other pointers would be much appreciated, as I am worried due to my previous results.Sad

  Passed Org Behavior Today
Posted by: lovetheduns - 11-14-2008, 12:05 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

So--- I admit, I have been paying my IC bill dutifully and I have not really used it like I should. I have run through the cards quickly and haphazardly. I did take the DSST Org Behavior book and took the questions and quizzes multiple times-- I pretty much used wikipedia some and an old textbook that I finally went through quickly last night and ended up making a 64 today! I would say the most I really did do is use this forum to review what others have said (thanks for the 9,9 leader) as my main guide.

I was excited. 96 questions taken in 40 minutes netted me a 64.

So I wanted to thank everyone on this forum-- you have paved the way for others.

Next stop World Religions on Wednesday and I am done! I graduate in December and move onto Grad School at UMBC in January.

  Dantes nightmare!
Posted by: mcakes - 11-13-2008, 11:00 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (4)

I think I am in a Dantes nightmare! I have been having trouble every since I took three Dantes paper tests. I went to the test site and the lady there gave me my three Dantes tests. She told me that she had a class and so just pick the test I wanted to start with. She checked on me two other times, and the last time she told me she had to leave and just leave the tests on the table! That was October 15th. When I hadn't heard in 3 weeks time, I called Dantes and they said they had not recieved the tests and to contact the testing site. I did this. She told me that she had sent the two tests. I told her I had taken 3 tests! I finally convinced her, that I had taken 3 tests. She called Dantes and they told her they had received them November 4, but had not graded them yet. I called Dantes today. They said that the tests were graded but they could not give out any scores. The person I talked to said the scores would go to my college. She talked like I would not recieve my scores. I have read everyone else's posts and everyone has said that they recieved their scores in the mail. So, my question is will Dantes send the scores to me? I am so frustrated. I will repeat this to everyone. TAKE THE COMPUTER TESTS!

  Peterson's/CLEP Scoring
Posted by: jon9902 - 11-13-2008, 06:23 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - No Replies

I am taking the History I CLEP tomorrow and have taken two Peterson's tests. I made a 39 on the first one just to gauge myself. Needless to say I studied a lot since then and today answered 60 right. Does anyone have any input based on this information? How does the Peterson's test compare to the CLEP? I am new to CLEP and was wondering what a 60 on the Peterson's might compare to on the CLEP.

Thanks to all that provide info on this forum. It's motivated me to pursue CLEP and finish my degree.

TESC BS in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness
Posted by: HawkGuy - 11-13-2008, 04:59 PM - Forum: [ARCHIVE] Excelsior, Thomas Edison, and Charter Oak Specific Discussion - Replies (1)

New degree offered by TESC that will let people use FEMA credits towards a degree, not just towards free electives.

From the email I received: "This new, 120-credit program is offered completely online and was developed to provide students with a broad view of homeland security issues by going beyond a single discipline to consider policy, preparation, response and recovery issues. The program covers law enforcement, emergency management and business continuity issues, and is designed for adults who want to learn the fundamentals of homeland security, emergency preparedness and decision-making skills required in the post-9/11 era."

  after the degree?
Posted by: Namivie - 11-13-2008, 03:49 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (13)

Someone asked me today what I was going to do with my free time after I get my degree.

That floored me when I realized I've been working so hard on the degree for so long that I rarely do anything that isn't study related (unless it's keeping my boys from destroying the household).....

so, while I'm thinking about my answer - I'll pass the question along. What are you going to do with your free time when you're done with your degree?

49 out of 336 questions on Substance Abuse?
Posted by: tinaaa313 - 11-13-2008, 03:17 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

My school requires a score of 49 or above to pass. This is probably a stupid question but does it mean 49 out of the 336 questions that is on the Substance Abuse DSST exam? If this is not true, can someone tell me how they grade it then? (I know the old version of the test called Drug and Alcohol Abuse use to have 261 questions)
