Posted by: pcs - 12-08-2008, 02:19 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Okay, so I have not looked at algebra for almost 15 years and never had anything but 101 (15 years ago). I need a math class but don't know which way to go. I need something basic, I am no mathmatician, but something that will fill that requirement. Anyone have a suggestion?

Trying to figure out my depth at EC,not enrolled so no help there yet. I have 2 possibles...The first being CJ..I just need one UL, I want an exam not a course, the only 2 possibles I have found are ECEs..one in juvenile delinquency(listed as a SOC course) the other Ethics which is a Phil course but a core for the major. The second is to do it in History..I have US Hist 1 and 2...I have an American Goverment (POL Sci) I would like to use...if not I will need to pick up another LL...what I dont know is if I can go with ANY Hist class or if it has to be American Hist..My UL is covered (or will be) with Civl War.

Any and all info,suggestions welcome.

PS to clarify I have one depth completed, trying to suss the other one.

  Lifespan Developmental Psychology Dantes
Posted by: maryannaray - 12-08-2008, 02:14 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

Hi,
I really need some advice on this exam. I have only taken Clep tests and I don't see any flash cards for this Dantes exam. Anyone have any advice on what to study so I can pass this exam ? Is it similar to Human Growth and Development Clep test. Because I have taken this as well as Intro to Psychology. Should I just study these again ? Any help would be great.

My daughter takes the Soc CLEP tomorrow. To help her out, I gathered info on all the topics mentioned in the forum. I'm certain I've included way too much, but I'm attaching it for all to use as you see fit. I'll have my daughter cut back the weeds once she's done (She has two younger brothers). If any exam grads want to weigh in, please feel free...I have a small ego.

Oops...moved file to Sociology Feedback forum...thanks Blitz

Hello all, I have almost completed my studies in India and want to go to US for college studies. This is really raising tensions with me. I have talked to some good resources and they have advised me about the admission process there. I need to know more on this and so any kind of help or information on college admissions for US education would be very helpful. Please provide your suggestions.

TECEP vs ECE - UL Credits
Posted by: thatbrian - 12-07-2008, 09:37 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - No Replies

Thanks to all for the help I have received from the great people here, I have earned 75 credits (including FEMA). Now I need to start thinking about the upper level credits to complete my major/concentration. I am trying to decide between TECEPs and ECEs, as well as which specific tests to take, and could use some help. I need 15 psychology and sociology credits.

I am officially enrolled in TESC (Social Sciences) so there might be some cost difference, but that is not important to me. The factors that are important to me are the following:

1.Convenience/availability of test center appoints. I would rather not have to book appointments very far in advance.

2.Level of difficulty. Easy = better.

3.Availability of study materials. I would rather have a study guide than a text book.

4.Availability of practice tests. Practice tests have been extremely helpful to me in preparing for the CLEP exams that I have taken.

Here is my degree plan (not approved yet). I have plugged in TECEPs, but have not booked anything yet.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Brian

  TESC Evaluation advice
Posted by: 1MP4Life - 12-06-2008, 08:45 PM - Forum: [ARCHIVE] Excelsior, Thomas Edison, and Charter Oak Specific Discussion - Replies (7)

Hello everyone,

Since I know there are a few TESC alumni and students out there, I was wondering if any of them had any advice for which tests or TESC courses I could use to finish my BA degree. Below is my degree audit for a BA liberal studies degree from TESC. I originally planned to earn my bachelor degree in criminal justice since that is what my AA degree is in as well as having 11 years as an MP in the Army (which is why I have so many AOJ classes). However, there are not many CJ CLEP/DTTS tests available, so I would have to take more classes than I would like for that degree. I would rather test out for a liberal arts, or social science degree and be finished more quickly. Please give any advice for which tests would fill in the requirements I still need.
Thank you,

KellySmile

Posted by: brianb - 12-06-2008, 02:33 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

I take a couple classes in the evening and next semester I will also be taking two online classes, one thing I don't like is that these classes are still 1500.00(500/credit hour) and I'm looking to find something cheaper, anyone able to know of an online 8 week class for these or maybe even a 16 week?

School is Webster Univ.
Class coap 2110 - Web Animation

Class coap 2120 - Web Editors
