Why does DegreeForum like ENEB
#1
I had never heard of ENEB before being on this forum and the sisterforum.
Why are opinions on this school generally so positive here?

They have been mixed. You need to read through the 200+ page thread which has been active for 4 years now. It started out very negative due to skepticism, got positive for awhile, and now people are complaining again due to some new developments. What has many fascinated about it is that you can earn their Masters degrees for less than $300 and they have received mixed yet still positive foreign credential evaluations to complete Bachelors degrees, transfer to Masters programs, and be accepted to Doctorate programs.

It's pretty much a means to an end. It's not the best, but, it's not a downright scam either. It's somewhere in between. It is a source of cheap credit that can help you jumpstart into another program. There are some schools that require an X amount of grad credit and ENEB satisfies the requirement. This is a huge source of it's success. In addition, many accreditations like WES Canada and Validential have given it favorable transfer credits. My employer accepted the Validential accreditation.

It widely depends on your needs and perspective. Some folks find that it works for them. As for me, I started out thinking it was a great deal but over time, my opinion changed. I don’t want to have to go through hoops to “prove” it’s real - like third party evaluations and whatnot. There’s no real “teaching” going on either. For me, that doesn’t work. So i took the loss and moved on to a MBA that better fits my personal goals.

It is odd to even use the word scam with a school that supported you in earning your doctorate; however, each to their own when it comes to feelings. As for the OP, I would describe ENEB as an opportunity for those who can find lanes (schools) that will accept ENEB degrees for transfer credits, employment, or promotion opportunities. There are several success stories in the larger thread with members who have leveraged ENEB degrees with significant wins.

Overall, my experience with them was what I designed it to be, and that was a resource to gain promotion opportunities and to support my interest in continuing with my academic aspirations. As mentioned, spend some time in the master thread, and you will have a complete understanding of why ENEB has garnered so much interest over the last two years.

For reference or as a short cut to the info you're looking at, you can review the WIKI for ENEB for more details (link also in my signature)... It really depends on the student and what they need/want... ENEB is great for filling in the knowledge/learning gaps, not really that great if you're 'starting' off.

What are some of the programs we know of here in the US that accept ENEB? I've seen the ENEB threads on different forums but mostly for immigration purposes. I'd possibly be interested in using it as a spring board for furthering my education here in the US though.

There was some talk about the University of Maine at Presque Isle; however, I have not read any updates confirming success. Considering the Evaluation and Equivalency Results, with enough effort, I am comfortable in guessing there are significantly more opportunities for credit transfer, and this above list only reflects the small pool of attempts by forum members.

Hmm. I have a BALS with TESU. I have been thinking of trying to enter a master's program somewhere or possibly more.

@darthweezy, any college/university that accepts the NACES member evaluation agencies on the WIKI will accept you. Depending on your overall application, as I mentioned, any... For those more competitive or selective, make sure you have most if not all the requirements for entry into their programs...
