Whoa.... If they don't allow open book/ open notes testing, then I don't see how anyone will pass their proctored tests. Those Shmoop tests are already ridiculous.

I sure hope that's the case! I'm sitting on months worth of hair pulling, teeth grinding work= 10 courses thru Shmoop that I'm
hoping to get credit for at TESU. Otherwise, I'm off to my second choice, Excelsior.

$25/exam is definitely going to affect the price, but it's still cheap compared to almost every other method out there except the free stuff and Saylor.

Well looks like I was wrong. I didn't suspect shmoop to make changes just for one school. I thought maybe when their current ACE recommendations we're close to expiring they may change.
Shmoop could be free and I still wouldn't pay $25 for a proctored exam. I was able to finish a lot of classes with them but they suck. There are several more classes I think I could have finished if I paid for another month but they weren't worth the headache.

The way their content is set up I would not be surprised if their college credit program is abandoned once proctoring is in place.

the 6 i've taken i passed without using a book or notes, and i could have gotten the exact same score with a proctor
i'm sure it varies by course but some of them are easily passable in a study.com-style webcam proctor format

I'm surprised they ever got approval in the first place. I don't think their lit course are very good and this is from someone who loves lit. The tests (at least 18 months ago) had so many typos it was embarrassing.

Their exams may still be open book even with a proctor. SL has open book, proctored exams for example.
They should have gone with RPNow to save some money on the proctoring. Oh well. Still not a bad price compared to many.

I would be happy for proctored if they made their Lit exams less "Shmoopy". That would make sense. Exams that are more normal and reasonable.

I wonder how quickly these changes will be implemented and we'll see Shmoop reaccepted at TESU again. I'm still debating applying at COSC (is it horrible that I'm putting it off because getting my AP scores sent to TESU was such a pain in the @$$ that I don't want to deal with doing it again?) if this takes much longer just so I can get moving again. Don't want to work on Shmoop until I know for sure my credits will be accepted.
Makes for good time to get through my CLEPs at least.
