Sending Onlinedegree.com transcript to University of the People
#11
Essentially, it's just $50 to apply to TESU, so send all ACE/NCCRS (such as your onlinedegree.com credits) and leave it in their system, always update this if you get more ACE/NCCRS credits, it'll keep piling up and you'll have it as a reference tool for later on, heck, even graduate credit from ACE/NCCRS can be done this way. If you have international credits from ENEB or other cheap options such as PLAR, that will work as well...

Might have missed my answer in the thread. Is there an additional value to have your credits at, say, TESU versus just in Credly? Wondering, as my younger brother has all of his credits in Credly and due to his age (17), unless going to the University of People or WGU, he has no options at the moment that max out the transfer credit.

Thanks

Not really, Credly is just one source of storage for your ACE credits, the main storage of all your credits should be at the institution you intend to graduate from. As a teen 16+, Excelsior would work as long as they've got a high school diploma. TESU would also work if they put in an age waiver and go through their process accordingly. It really depends on how they want to play their cards and what they currently have as credit...

Thank you. UMPI is where he wanted to attend; however, he doesn't want to wait and would rather knock out a bachelor's degree by 19 and have completed a master's by 21/22.

He has earned his GED. We need to spend more time on Excelsior because our family bias is in TESU, WGU & UMPI, having completed degrees with each.

Excelsior is a tab I've never clicked. - time to change that Big Grin

The advantage of Credly is in case an alt credit provider such as SL goes out of business, then your courses are saved in Credly.

They've got the GED? Did they score higher than 175+ on each of the 4 subjects? If they did, the get 10 credits towards college! Add that to, as duplicates possibly, to what they currently have. I suggest skipping Excelsior as they've added the 15 credits residency requirement, plus $300 each evaluation. I still favor TESU due to the age waiver option instead, plus the option to do a double degree with the 15 residency credits through them...

I finished every single OnlineDegree.com course and got the transcript sent out to TESU right after they shut down.

Assuming OnlineDegree.com will still send out transcripts AND schools are willing to evaluate them, why wouldn't it "matter anymore"?

Quote from OnlineDegree.com link:
We’re sorry but as of January 29, 2025, OnlineDegree.com is no longer offering its free courses.
We began on a mission to make college more affordable, and to keep our courses free… however, the costs associated with providing this to people have become too great. We made the difficult decision to close the doors.
If you’re an existing student, and would like to request we send a transcript to your university, please send an email to support@onlinedegree.com with your login email, the school, and their address.

You may have gotten into TESU before their NCCRS certification expired, but nobody else can transfer those credits into TESU now.

OnlineDegree is dead. Talking about OnlineDegree is about as useful as talking about Shmoop.
