This message is intended for those learners of 226.1 who did not complete the course for one reason or another and who may be interested in its third offering. This offering starts tomorrow.
We plan to offer 226.1, 226.2, and 226.3 according to a schedule that is similar to the ones we have followed in the past. Weâve tweaked a few other things based on the feedback you have given us, and we continue to refine the explanations that accompany the exercises. But the mathematical content will be essentially the same.

Quick question - how do you show that this course was live when you took it, and available for credit though ACE??

Look under Alternative Credit Project Ecosystem on the ACE website.
And just as a reminder for math folks you should credit SL Calc 1 and Calc 2 under ACPE to make sure you get 4 credits instead of 3.

"MATH226 is essentially the edX equivalent of MA226, a one-semester course in ordinary differential equations taken by more than 500 students per year at Boston University. It is divided into three parts. MATH226.1 is the first of these three parts."
so you have to do all 3 parts to get credit ?

Each part is worth 3 according to ACE. So 9 in total if you do the whole series. At TESU, it is 9 UL.

wow
so if I took the one semester course at boston U I'd get 3 credits
but by breaking it up into 3 parts (thus making the material presented a lot slower and giving much more time to do the work) I can do it for 9 credits LOL

Is 50% a passing grade for these? In their schedule, at the bottom, it says "The course officially ends at this time. The content will still be available after the course closes, but those seeking a Verified Certificate must achieve an overall grade of 50% by this date."
Granted, 50% could be a bit challenging since the material is hard from the start, but I would much rather have a 50% cut-off than 60% or more.

No, ACE credit requires 70%, whereas the general EdX certificate requires only 50%. Here's the link:

Take the course with the Verified Certificate option. The cost varies by course, but will be less than $300 USD/course for all ACE approved courses. You must have a passing grade of 70%[/URL]
You'll request the credit via ACE, then ACE will verify with EdX that you made 70%+. It doesn't depend upon you getting any certificate directly from EdX.
