ENEB transfer credit to Universidad Azteca/UCN and others
#1
Since the ENEB thread is massive and this is rather specific, I thought a separate thread would be easier for people to find the information in the future.

I saw in the ENEB Master Thread that people have transferred ENEB credits to Azteca for the purpose of getting into Azteca's doctorate programs. I'm assuming this is only applicable for the DBA or PhD in Business Administration, but if someone used it to start a semi-related doctorate program (like economics) or a doctorate in a different field without a corresponding masters (like education) that would be good information for the community to have that's not buried on page 100something of a massive thread. I'd also be interested in knowing if Azteca still wants $5500 if you're coming in with ABD status thanks to ENEB credits. As I'm saying this I'm wondering if there is a way to leverage the Big Data and BI degree into getting into Azteca's Computer Science PhD program (a related but not 1:1 field). More food for thought, what if the MBA and Big Data degrees could be used to avoid the bridge courses for the DBA and IT PhD at onlinepostgrad.com?

For the purpose of getting the maximum number of credits to transfer to another institution, ENEB currently has 40 courses (~120 US credits or 240 ECTS depending on evaluation) available in English spread across various degrees. I'm unclear on whether the Spanish language course is listed as a postgrad course on the transcript for those that choose to complete it. Assuming the price is still US$150 to add each additional master and you can't negotiate a lower price to commit to them all at once it would cost around US$1200 to take every course offered by ENEB, or a crippling US$10 per US semester credit, assuming you select the degrees below. As I understand it, the degrees for Digital Marketing & eCommerce, Commerce Management & Marketing, Teamwork MBA and Management & Team Management would be completed as a byproduct of finishing these degrees, however ENEB still requires an additional US$150 to issue each degree.

MBA
Big Data and Business Intelligence
Business and Corporate Communication
International Trade
Hotel Management and Tourism
Human Resources Management
Project Management
Supply Chain Management

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Coaching, Emotional Intelligence and NLP & Coaching, Emotional Intelligence and Mindfulness degrees would add about 10-15 more courses (I didn't count them) for $450 that could be transferred if you are comfortable taking them in Spanish and/or really trust some online translation tool. I suppose you could also complete the English for Business course offered to Spanish students for maximum credit trolling.

Thoughts?

I've been having issues with Azteca/UCN as a graduate.  I'm still waiting on my PhD diploma and other materials to be sent to me but they are not responding to my messages.   In any case,  they generally accept credits from any program that is accredited in the country it is offered in so Universidad I / ENEB would qualify.  They base your standing more so on your ECTS credits than they do degrees so if you have a surplus of credits,  your PhD would take two years instead of three since your MPhil one year requirement would be waived.   If you plan to transfer to the DBA, up to two years could be waived and you would have one year for the thesis.

No one here has transferred to Azteca from ENEB that I know of.   I plan to enroll in ENEB at some point after finishing my graduate certificate from ASU's Thunderbird School next year in order to see how many of those credit hours will transfer.   I already had a Master of Education and another Graduate Certificate so I had a surplus of credits when I enrolled in a PhD that would have taken only two years without coursework.  My PhD is in Education and it took me a little over 2 years to finish it.   I've been waiting for graduation and paperwork since September of 2022.

The ENEB transfer opportunity sounds excellent; however, the no update since September 2022 is more than problematic. I'm I correct to guess that you are paid in full for the degree?

After finishing at VUL next year, checking into the best options to double deep into another doctorate program would be interesting.

I've had updates from them being in the process of issuing my degree but now it has been held hostage so to speak.    They are wanting $600,  $200 for shipping fees and $400 for apostille fees.  I told them I did not want the apostille back in March and after 3 emails have not received a reply.   I've paid my degree in full as they wanted the entire fee at the very beginning.

I've been thinking a lot about pursuing another Doctorate and actually did get admitted to VUL but never enrolled for classes as I was trying to find ways such as scholarships to decrease the cost without getting a loan.   I'm also looking into local doctorate programs.   The Azteca/UCN degree was completed just out of curiosity and life-long learning.  However, I would not recommend them for a serious endeavor.  They are very hands-off and if you want a real doctorate experience, it is best to go with a USA or European school if you are located in any first-world country.

Thank you for the breakdown, Carlton. As with ENEB, some of these schools make a good portion of their profits in the last nickel & dime approach as students walk out the graduation door.

My comment on this school is that the degree title you end up awarded is not an official degree, (it is not recognized outside of the Spain territory) a Real diploma need to be issued as "Titulo official" otherwise you will not be able to transfer the credits to another country.

Please read "7. ACADEMIC CONDITIONS
Diplomas: All degrees are issued by the LA ESCUELA DE NEGOCIOS EUROPEA DE BARCELONA - INTERNACIONAL S.L. are "Títulos Propios Privados", which are credentials awarded upon completion of the curriculum set by the institution and awarded by the institution. All companies, quality labels and external platforms that collaborate with the School aim to increase the academic value of the issued degrees. The School reserves the right to modify and update these collaborations with the objective of seeking greater external academic certification that contributes more business value to the issued diplomas."

Not sure about the comment as it's been confirmed that several schools have accepted ENEB credits as transfer, so there is no discussion on transfer value at this point. Limited value is a fair conversation for those wanting to ensure they are heard concerning ENEB.

ENEB continues to find pockets in universities through transfer and will most likely grow through the creative and sharp people in this and the sister forum.

Agreed. We now know exactly which evaluators to use when looking for undergrad credits, grad credits or RA master's equivalence. You can say those differences are highly illogical, but the blame for that is on the evaluators, not ENEB. It may not make a ton of sense to anyone that isn't an evaluator for one of those companies, but it actually gives us maximum flexibility in how we leverage the degrees. If you can't get future academic value out of ENEB that's really on you at this point.

ENEB by itself while non-accredited is university accredited/ certified by Universidad Isabel I which makes their credits transferable through the ECTS system although the Masters would still be considered unofficial in Spain. Either way,  how these are interpreted will be based on the evaluator, employer, or school.    Considering the price and experiences of many who have went through programs at ENEB,  the perks far outweigh the quirks of the Propio status. There have been several members here who have either received a job, pay raise, or entered a Doctorate program with ENEB degrees.

I don't know about Azteca, but I had a discussion with UCN a year or so ago regarding ECTS and propios. They said as long as the school is legitimate, your grades are passing, and you have the right number of ECTS credits to satisfy entry, you should be fine.

Recognition of any degree being used outside its country of origin isn't guaranteed. Degrees from institutionally accredited schools here in the United States aren't recognized in all other countries. An official degree is no more real than a propio, they're both real, they're simply governed differently in Spain (one hands-on, the other hands-off), but that's of virtually no concern for an American. For an American, the concern would squarely be on what an employer thinks andif a foreign credential evaluation is needed for employment or for entry into a college programwhat a foreign credential evaluator thinks.
