David and Laurie Notes Natural Science
#1
I was wondering if anyone has used their notes to pass the Natural Science exam? On their website they state that it is only 40 pages long and helped them pass the Natural Science Clep Exam. How do they compare to Comex or REA? I am really interested to know which is the best product for this exam. Any feedback would be great.

Also is this test composed more of biology or chemistry?

The NS notes are TOP NOTCH and I used them to pass the NS exam a few years ago.

It's important to note that Laurie wrote the REA Biology book and that the NS notes are an extension of that book.

The NS exam is 50% Biology.........so, study and take Bio FIRST and then study for the NS exam.

I am still debating over which study aid is the best for my wife. I have reveiwed the first nine pages of David and Laurie notes but it seems kinda mixed. I am comparing Comex, David and Lauries Notes, Peterson Clep Success, and two other study guides. Personally I am leaning toward Comex. What do you think of Comex for Natural Science?

As the NS exam is 50% BIO (a deep and complex subject unto itself) many people study for the BIO exam FIRST and then study for the other 50% of the NS exam.

Biological Science (50%)

10% Origin and evolution of life, classification of organisms

10% Cell organization, cell division, chemical nature of the gene, bioenergetics, biosynthesis

20% Structure, function, and development in organisms; patterns of heredity

10% Concepts of population biology with emphasis on ecology

Physical Science (50%)

7% Atomic and nuclear structure and properties, elementary particles, nuclear reactions

10% Chemical elements, compounds and reactions; molecular structure and bonding

12% Heat, thermodynamics, and states of matter; classical mechanics; relativity
4% Electricity and magnetism, waves, light and sound

7% The universe: galaxies, stars, the solar system

10% The Earth: atmosphere, hydrosphere, structure, properties, surface features, geological processes, history

Where can these be found? I only pull up REA when I look for them.

Since this thread was originated, the authors of the notes have written a new REA book for the Nat Sci exam, and I think they may have pulled the notes they were selling. I used the REA -- in conjunction with Peterson practice exams, Wikipedia and Cliffs.com and I highly recommend it. (I always use more than one source, and this exam is so broad that I would advise it for sure.)
