To clear Pierpont's name and set the record straight, Mr Beighley did respond to my daughter by email after a few days. I'm sure he was overloaded, as all of Pierpont's employees likely were and still are.
Yes, people who submitted transcripts later in the semester still don't have answers as to whether their degrees will be conferred. PCTC emailed on 12 December to say they are still working on conferring degrees for 2024 and will be doing so into 2025. WOW! There must have been a huge number of applications for graduation!
Changing topics, slightly:
I'll reiterate this in hopes of Pierpont learning something as well as other institutions of higher education. They could have saved themselves many emails, phone calls and frustration and extra work by having a single web page with a comprehensive FAQ on To-Do items and their deadlines and what BOG students should expect as the semester drew to a close.
I assume their shortsightedness in regards to lack of communication was an "it will be what it will be" attitude. Sorry, that's unacceptable when students are kicking @$$ to get their classes done and don't even have a deadline for transcripts because the college can't spend 10 minutes to write some critical information and 10 minutes to put it on their website - and those are generous times. Spend 20 minutes, save many hours!!
Same with other institutions. I get so annoyed when trying to find simple questions like will they accept DSSTs or Sophia and how many credits of each. Simple questions and answers. But they force us to call or email them to find they probably don't except either. That's a huge waste of time and leaves a horrible taste in my mouth!
Rant over!
