Capstones enrollment related to their area of study

Quote:NOTE:
Online students should enroll in the section that relates to their area of study as indicated below:
  • LIB-4950-OL001 - This course section is for BA students with a major area of study or liberal arts concentration in the social sciences including Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Labor Studies and International Studies and for students in the BA in Liberal Studies program with a concentration in HR Management and General Management.

  • LIB-4950-OL002 - This course section is for BA students with a major area of study or liberal arts concentration in the humanities including Liberal Studies, Art, English, Foreign Languages, History, Music, Philosophy, Photography, Religion and Theater Arts.

  • LIB-4950-OL003 - This course section is for BA students with a major area of study or liberal arts concentration in Biology, Environmental Studies, Mathematics and Computer Science and for students in the BA in Liberal Studies program with a concentration in Health and Wellness and Healthcare Management
Guided Study students should enroll in the following section:
  • LIB-4950-GS001: Liberal Arts Capstone

This seems new? Previously when searching for the course, it seemed that there was no rhyme or reason behind the course numbers (June had GS002, OL009 & OL012) and the only reference was this post however June's course numbers didn't have the numbering to match the description, July's course numbers however do match it.

The wording on the capstone description makes me wonder what happens if the course for your major area of study is completely filled? I've seen previous posts where people are asking for recommendations on which professor to take the capstone, for example, Matthew Badtke is the professor for LIB-4950-OL003, so if you are majoring in Computer Science, I guess that would determine who your professor would be, but what if you wanted your professor to be Augustus Black who is teaching LIB-4950-OL002?

I guess we will see what happens.

It said "should" so I guess this is not a requirement.  If the subject of your capstone isn't related to your major, then it wouldn't matter if you picked a section not related to your major.
