Why does DegreeForum like ENEB
#41
I just enrolled in the big data masters at ENEB and I don't think the 50 questions test to skip classes is still an option. Only the self assessment tests seem to be available.

It's not something you can purchase anywhere in the student area like in an online shop. They always offered this method through sales through their newsletters or limited promos. The default is still the written paper method.

You need to wait 1-3 months and ENEB will automatically Email you with the exam option. It gives people enough time to try out the "classic method".

Congrats on another step in your learning/career journey!
Finished: 2 AAs, 1 BA, 2 trade schools, 3 ENEB MAs, JLPT N1.

Definitely going the paper route not the exam route even if offered. Thank you!

Wouldn't exam route be faster if all you need is the degree?

Not necessarily. You may need to wait 3 months or more to get access to the exam, then it can take another 3 months for grading. Meanwhile you could theoretically do all the homework in 1-2 weeks, it takes that same 3 months for grading - you would save 2.5 months or more via the homework route.

It's roughly the same amount of time waiting, for the exam option, they originally allowed me to do the exam 6 months after purchase (April 2024), then after I emailed them, they bumped my exam date to earliest in Feb... I've written about this before, it really depends on how the student wants to get things done, I highly suggest the 'classic' option of writing assignments and getting things graded and only use the exam feature as a practice/review midterm exam (if it's free).

I'm hoping they're changing their ways so they use the graded assignments as the main grade, with the midterm/exam freebie as a secondary grade, then provide a final grade on both combined, the exam option should be used for re-enforcement of knowledge just to make sure you're getting concepts and only be worth maybe 1/4 to 1/3 the entire grade.  I really wonder if they'll do something like that so other FCE's will favor them sooner or later...

This should not happen, and if it could, the course would not be offered at this price. The things you are talking about are only done by regular universities, and regular universities can't take care of such a large number of students. Recent events have shown that they are not interested in improving the quality of their teaching, they just want to offer more classes and charge students more for all sorts of miles, and if the university really cared about their reputation they wouldn't be awarding three master's degrees through a single exam.

Question: How is the "Master's Test" any worse than something like WGU, which is a RA degree? I just saw a post on Reddit from someone who completed their MBA at WGU in 4 DAYS.
