After reading this article and many others about 2U (as well as the other major OPMs), it seems likely that most OPM-based programs are probably inferior to schools that run their own programs. At the very least, the professors, from what I have read and heard, are less engaged, since they are teaching somebody else's course plan/curriculum.
When I was looking for my MSW, I specifically looked for (and found) programs that were developed in-house by the school's own faculty and did not use an OPM. I got to where I could tell fairly quickly by looking at a college's website whether it was an OPM-run site, or a school's own site, but that got me to thinking...
Is there any database, or any current listing anywhere, of which schools use OPMs and which do not? A school that does not use an OPM would certainly be a plus for me, both because of my thoughts above and because it seems that, almost without fail, the non-OPM schools are MUCH less expensive.
Thoughts?
