Was just wondering why there are no IC flashcards for CLEP College Algebra... =(

Any TESC students take the TECEP for Art History 2? It is a required course since my degree will be in visual art.

I was also thinking that studying for that and getting farmiliar with that first would help me with HUMANITIES. Any insights?

Back in August I took DSST Foundations of Education using only Instantcert for study. I felt confident that I had done well on this test. When I received my test results I was shocked to find out I failed this test. And not by a little My report said I scored a 29. I up to that point had taken 8 clep and 3 dantes test passing all since last December. I thought I had done well on this exam and was at a loss on how I could obtain such a low score. I put it behind me figuring I either transposed answers on my answer sheet or was completely clueless to this subject matter. I continued testing taking 3 more cleps since that time. Guess what I received in the mail? A correction to my score for the Foundations of ED exam, I did not score a 29 but a 67. I logged onto the COSC site to check my transcript and status report and there it showed the new score with a letter grade of A and 3 more credits!! giving me a total of 102.7 credits. Finally over the 100 credit hour mark. So now that makes me 15 for 15 on testing 11 Cleps and 4 Dantes. I would urge anyone if you failed a Dantes test and you feel something isn't right to follow-up. I didn't and got lucky that they caught and corrected their error. I remember seeing a post either this or on another forum of someone with a similar experience. Anyone else have this happen?
PS Instantcert is more than enough to prepare for this test.

Okay...here's the situation. I am a traditional (adult) student attending a B&M school. I have my last core class that will be finishing on Dec. 3...My BS program begins on Jan. 30...This leaves me roughly 2 months taking only one (fairly easy) online class. This is a prime opportunity for me to knock out some CLEP exams. My plan is to try and finish at least 4 exams during this period. I have to take US History I and II for my degree, but the other two can be anything (will probably take business exams as that's what I am most familiar with).

My question is this, would you recommend to prepare for two at a time and try to take them both the same day (or consecutive) days, or prepare for them one at a time (i.e. US Hist I, take exam, US Hist II, take exam, Principles of Mgmt., take exam, etc.)?

Just trying to get my game plan together to maximize efficiency during this time frame. This will be the last break I will get for about a year and a half.

Appreciate any suggestions...

I took this after I got off work this morning.....What a mother of a test.... Not that it was overly difficult, just that it was 160 questions long. The first 60 were cake and I was getting quite full of myself, then the theories/scenarios set in. To say they were subjective is an understatement. Questions like this were the norm:

Many older adults feel this way about their lives and health:
1. Generally great
2. Generally poor
3. Feel like normal aging but have trouble getting around in my community
4. Overlly depressed about getting older

(not exact questions/answers)

Can they be any more vague? Can an old person out there answer this one for me? (no, I don't expect a response) I would imagine it would depend on which old person you talked to... I'm sure somewhere there is a textbook with this answer but it was not anywhere I read. end of rant

Overall I feel confident I passed, but time will tell....I used IC for this and I also took Adulthood and Aging last week; there was serious overlap between the two. I would recommend studying for both of them using IC THEN take the tests. I believe it would help you on each of the tests. I remember thinking as I was studying for this one how the information would have helped me on the A&A test last week. No word on the retake of ECE's HRM, I took it 2 days after World Pop (which I received the score on in a record 11 days)..... I keep trying to think good thoughts but I'm screaming inside!:eek:


I'm going to next tackle the dreaded Civil War test at the end of the month. That will be 5 for this month, howwever the quantity is not important as the results are. Good luck to all of you in your studies and wish the same for mine. Lee

I need help. :o Can the average dummy pass this test with just IC? Please let me know if you have passed it and what study info was used. I have this test and the civil war test sitting waiting for me in pencil form at the university.

I am scheduled to take German and also social science/history this Friday. I am debating adding intro sociology to it but am concerned about fatigue. Has anyone done three exams in one day? It could be rewarding - possibly 21 credits in one day - but I don't want to over-reach. What are your thoughts? (other than 'she's got to be crazy' )

I take my final final next week, and that 's it, all requirements fulfilled, I'll have done it...however, the celebratory feeling is being marred by the fact that my school has bungled up retrieving my CLEP scores from it's statewide system, and half of them are still not showing up on my transcript as of yesterday. I entered the correct code on every CLEP test I took, and it should have been a simple thing. I took my last CLEP in AUGUST!!!

Apparently the credentials analyst was on leave, and other people filled in, and inadvertently entered things wrong, or missed entering credits...

ACK!!

My registrar is working on it now, but it is so frustrating. I am so afraid that something will be missing, or there will be yet another glitch in seeing all of the 45 credits that I tested out of since last March.

If they get it straightened out, I should have my letter for me (and my employer) stating I have fulfilled all requirements within 10 days, but it depends on these scores and they're "working on it"...

Has anyone else experienced this with a B & M school or otherwise?

I'm starting to study for the Civil War exam. Has anybody scored well just using IC and the PBS Burns Civil War video series? I would like to get an A on the exam and was wondering if these two would be adequate. I like the idea of watching a video versus reading a boring book. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
