I hope you are all doing well. I tried to do some research but I am at a loss.

I wanted to get my associates ( I need it as soon as possible)  and then eventually my bachelore's. 

I have some credits from community college (attached) and it seems that sophia is the fastest way to finish everything. (correct me if I am wrong)

I am not sure which is the fastest and hopefully easiest courses I would need to take. If this is the wrong place I apologize but I really want to help my family. Thank you all and let me know if you have any questions.

Old TESC Alumni.

Interested in options on having post-bacc credits recognized (preferably by al mat) other than the ILA/Onetranscript/Registry.

Would TESU take transfer credits as a visiting student if I took a TECEP? Would all those credits be on one transcript with my old completed ones from years ago, or would they be two separate ones?

If I chose ILA, or any of the other credit registries, would those credits be "granted" or simply "logged"?

I'm looking at TESU for the sake of having one consolidated source, but the cheapest option is what I will take if it meets my needs.

Doing this for the prerequisites of a professional credential that wants those credits "granted" by an RA institution.

Interested in the BACS here at TESU, here is relevant information about me

Status: US Citizen, Full time student, Ideally graduate from here as cheaply as possible.

Background: Graduated with a BS in an unrelated field from a Four Year Regionally Accredited University in the United States. Currently pursuing an MS online aiming to graduate in late 2027 in the US as well

Goal: To use my BS degree to bypass the GE courses and electives which should total me to only having to take the 45 credit AOS (Area of Study) classes (I could be wrong). To complete this CS degree with only taking the capstone and maybe another course

Progress: Ive been on this forum and just understanding what i will be getting into. Now, looking through study.com and Sophia learning to find the TESU CS equivalents and mapping where to take what. I’m just planning until I pull the trigger on signing up for study.com to knock out ALOT of CS classes which i estimate will take me 3-4 months. But some of the elective stuff was hard to find/understand. Here is a breakdown I made, please let me know if this is right. Bottlenecks:
1: I am currently pursing a MS degree which has one big challenge. Lets say I do all these study.com courses to fulfill the degree and then apply to tesu to take the capstone, and then graduate after the course. I would essentially need to make sure I graduate at TESU first and then in my MS program after. I can easily take less classes in my MS to focus more on this CS and graduate later but bottom line I cannot be graduating in TESUS CS program AFTER I complete my MS or else all that hard work from study.com would essentially be voided. They outline it on their website
Second Bachelor’s Degree
If you have earned a previous baccalaureate degree, and wish to pursue a second, you must complete a minimum of 24 additional credits, including the required capstone, for the degree. These credits must be in the area of study and/or core of the degree. They must also be earned after the date your most recent degree, regardless of academic level, was conferred.
 
Worries:
1: I’m pursing a MS right now and while it wont be much more work on my plate id hate to be breaking some kind of rule here being dual enrolled. I could just not say anything but who knows. I don’t want to pause this masters and would like to get both done within the year 2027. The MS program is aimed for working adults so i figured i would just do the CS program "full time" and treat the MS as its intended purpose of being a weekend thing lol

2: the Capstone in general, from the research aspect, time consumption, and ETS major field test. I know I can just grind out the research aspect in the 12 week period but I been seeing on here the ETS exam is pass or fail and you must pass so kinda worried once I get all this study.com stuff done, apply, to only then get booted out for failing a ets exam would be soul crushing.

Again, I have yet to submit anything or even start admission now so any advice tips or tricks would be helpful and ill answer as best I can and I apologize if some things in here may not be accurate, please correct me if needed. Ill hopefully post again after applying and seeing what admission says about the course plan.

I took Introductory Psychology CLEP yesterday and barely passed with a 52.

I went through the InstantCert flashcards just once and then did Modern States and got like a 95% on their full-length practice test and got overconfident. I think I was really lucky to pass and will definitely study more for my next test.

Next is Human Growth and Development. I am hoping to take it on Monday or Tuesday.

I need some help to complete my TESU Bio degree. After a combination from ACE, my previous college courses on bio (note: outside of the US) and UMPI meant that this is the list I have to complete. 


1. General Biology I with Lab 

2. General Biology II with Lab 

3. Chemistry II with Lab 

4. Cell Biology

5. Organic Chemistry I Lab (1 credit)

6 Organic Chemistry II with Lab 

7. Genetics 


The issue is having already done BIO 3100, given that most of my other bio transferred as 200-level credit. I still need upper level credits. Any good cheap options would be nice. Also, could I get organic chemistry just as a lab?  As of now, my budget is 5000 USD

On Monday, I passed the Introductory Sociology CLEP with a 67.

I was really happy about that because I only studied for 4 days. If I'd failed, I'd have had to reconsider my plan to take a bunch of CLEPs and probably would have had to lower my expectations and plan on taking a lot longer to finish my degree.

Here is what I did:

1. I studied InstantCert's flashcards twice.
2. I went through Modern States pretty quickly, although I paid more attention to the questions and the full-length practice test at the end. I got an 83 on that practice test.
3. Finally, I went through the first InstantCert full-length practice test and studied what I got wrong.

Honestly, I did not feel that confident during the test. I took the full 90 minutes. I feel like I'm a pretty good test-taker so I was able to eliminate answer choices for most questions and make educated guesses, but if you're not good at taking tests, then you should probably do more studying than I did.

Thanks to Modern States for the prep and the voucher! It was super easy to apply the voucher on the Collegeboard site and I did not have to pay for anything.

I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and appreciate all of the great information here!

I am a 16-year old homeschooler in NC. I did public school all my life but switched to homeschool this year for my junior year.

Instead of following any kind of homeschool curriculum, my plan is to do a bunch of CLEP exams for free using Modern States and have those count as my high school work while at the same time working towards a Bachelors in Computer Science from Thomas Edison.

Here is my rough plan:

I will be making a separate post soon about my experience with my first CLEP I took on Monday (Introductory Sociology) and then I am scheduled to take Introductory Psychology CLEP today.
