Today I went into the testing center with too much confidence perhaps. I hear people getting really high scores (low 70s, high 60s) on the Intro. to Psychology CLEP exam. I studied a week for this exam and felt like I was ready. Everyone tells me that this CLEP is one of the easier ones. Well, I took it and to my surprise I only got a 52 on it :mad: So much for the easiness. The other two CLEPs (Intro to Mgmt and Info. Systems & App.) I actually did better on but I thought they were supposed to be a little bit more challenging than the Psych CLEP or so I have heard... I'm taking the Intro. to Sociology next week. I have heard that alot of the Psych stuff overlaps into the Soci. exam... Is that true? How can I get a better grade on the Soci. CLEP? I also noticed there is merely 150 odd questions for the Soci IC while the Psych. IC has well over 300 questions. So my question is, is it possible to pass the Soci. CLEP with just studying from the Soci. IC cards ONLY? :p Any suggestions is much appreciated

For those who may be in the south/south suburban Chicagoland area, I just found out that South Suburban College offers all DSST in the computerized format. They charge a $25 sitting fee on top of the $70 test fee. No need to have any test ordered just call a couple of days before hand to schedule an appointment. Testing times are between 9am - 5pm M-F, and they also have random Saturday testing dates, once per month.

Well all ..after failing the clep in college math...I now have to find a 3 credit math to take asap..and it must be easy, as I have demonstrated a very noticeable lack of current math ability beyond the basics..and I project the dsst astronomy course as my science. So Iam open to ideas and insights as I need to get 3 math and science courses done quickly and inexpensively. Help y'all ..please! Ron:o

Just got the call from my son-in-law that he sat his journeyman electrician test this afternoon and PASSED! I am so proud of him. He has been studying every night after work for many month's now. We all know what that's like. Now that he has accomplished this and has proved to himself that he can teach himself I am going to try and talk him into going for his BA by exams also. I need to wait a couple of weeks though. Pretty sure he doesnt' want to even think about studying for awhile. hilarious

And my other son just received Guardsman of the Quarter at his air force base. Right on!

One course , that's all after passing 27 cleps and dantes tests...and then graduation. But alas, that one course after being out of the classroom for 30 years proved to be a huge stumbling block!! College math is a curse not a course. If you are a math whiz at simple math great...but, as I suspected the only thing simple about this test ..was me!!! For those of you coming out of high school or recent algebra classes who know an equation from an equator, you'll do fine.But, my equation was an equator and I ended up in the south pole!! There are alot of challenges in life ...Iam ,was , and forever will be challenged by upper level math. Yet, I promise, come hell or high water, That I will find a way to get my liberal arts degree from T.E.S.C. six credits that can be either 3 math and 3 science aren't going to stop me.

Anyone in Spring, TX take Dantes test? My testing center doesn't give dantes and I will have to search for a testing center. What website can I go to to find a testing center nearby?

Ok, 2 more exams and I will be a college grad! One problem: they are the two TECEP exams, Business Policy and Operations Management. I can't seem to find any study material anywhere. I checked both bain4weeks and 123college and there sure isn't much to find. I bought Strategic Management by Wheelen (old edition but info is info, right?). The website has a lot of info but no summaries. I know the instructors manual does have summaries and sample test questions to practice but I am not a teacher, so I can't buy that manual.

I am even considering Istudysmart, but can't stand to spend the money. On top of it, I am a crammer, work best on my last 3 days before a test, not on 4 months of preparation. Any ideas????

Hello everyone!

I just recently enrolled in Excelsior's BS Marketing program and was wondering if I could (and should) use an old & ancient college Algebra class to satisfy the math requirement. My first problem is this class was graded a "D" and wasn't sure if the advisors would want to include this class towards credit. My other problem is that having taken the class way back then, I'm not so confident today I could tackle the CLEP Algebra exam even if I prepared for it. What are your thoughts and opinons about my problem?
