I just wanted to let you know I just took and passes Here's to your Health with a 58.

The testing center I went to offers the computerized testing. They said they are part of the pilot program. It took them 20 minutes to logon to the proctor portion of the test. That was pretty aggrevating.

All in all the test was more difficult than I thought. I may of underestimated going into it. There was ALOT of material that was not covered by Instantcert, yet that is all I used and passed. There is alot of common sense health questions.

I spent about 2 days 1/2 days studying at work. I work at a helpdesk so when the phone wasn't were ringing i was reviewing.

All in all im pretty psyched to have started my journey. I had 10 tests to take and now im down to 9.

Up next Principles of Management! Wish me luck.

Mr. Wiizard I certainly am not , so keeping that in mind..has anyone taken the Dantes astronomy test? If so, What resources did you use and recognizing Iam not a science guy..how tough was this test? Thanks,Ron

After bombing in college math the good folks at T.E.S.C. have agreed to let me take a 3 credit math, pending their approval, of my choice. Iam thinking about

Dantes...not sure which math.. need simple!!
Penn Foster..but I can't get in touch with them
AND .. any place else that will let me get this done now!

They said that the other 3 credits I need in science could be astronomy from Dantes, but what resource for studying will do the job..any ideas? Or maybe someone knows of a better course for my science requirement. I have taken the race to save the planet, here's to your health and geology; so Iam open to suggestions. Six credits to go and Iam done, but hopefully not "TOASTED".

Has anyone taken the electronic version of this test yet? I am going to take it next week and was wonder how many quiestions and how much time do they give you? So far all the electronic tests I have taken have been 2 hours and 100+ questions. I see lots of people say 3-4 hours to take the written version of this test hence why I am asking.

Well this test was a bear (scrored a 52). I took the electronic format today and had enough time to review it twice, 106 questions. I used IC and Prometric practice exams for this test only (those are all you need but study hard).

Here is what you need to know:
Be sure to know everything about:
Sedative Hypnotics
Opiates
Stimulants
Hallucinogins
Trade names, street names, effect on the body, withdrawal symptoms, symptoms of addiction, how these drugs interact and potentiate with each other, what impact an overdose would have. About 75% of the test

I only got maybe 10% of the test covering Alcohol and Tobacco if not less. Also know what agencies control what and when they were created! The rest of the exam 15% was misc stuff.

I just passed Principles of Management and now need to tackle Principles of Accounting or Intro to Business Law. Which is more difficult?

BTW: Scored 69 on the Principles of Management simply using InstaCert.

I just posted the new Abnormal Psych materials. If Excelsior has a practice exam for this subject, I would recommend supplementing our materials with it.

I think the materials were well-developed in accordance to the content outline and should work on their own, but I say better to be safe than sorry!

Please provide feedback if you take the exam........

Does anybody have the study guide for heres to your health in PDF. The instantcert format is great but it would be nice if I could just read it all at once. My eyes get tired of reading everything on my monitor. Any help would be appreciated. I am going to try and take it on Thursday.

Hi all

I was just notified yesterday by my advisor that I had not yet had credits awarded for general military service. Always nice, so now I'm looking at 8 lower level credits that I didn't know I had. My military school credits are already over but it seems they award 2 credits per year in general for basic service outside of schools. Good deal.

This does, however, now put me in a position where lower level testing no longer has benefit. That said, I need to try and figure out what I need to hit that may be perceived by consensus as the ''easier'' upper level tests. I know that ''easier'' is all perspective, but I'd like to take a consensus on which tests may allow me to turn around this degree at the most expeditious pace.

I already have taken and passed:

1) Management Information Systems DSST
2) Drug and Alcohol Abuse DSST

Thinking about:

1) American Dream Excelsior
2) Intro to Management CLEP (transfers as upper level to my university)

I hear that Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union, something of interest to me, is not an easy test to ace.

Any ideas and/or suggestions on upper level tests would be highly appreciated.

Hello everyone! I am currently enrolled in Excelsior's BS Marketing program and recently skimmed over their Liberal Arts Catalog. What hit me was the BS requirements for the Liberal Studies degree - they didn't look as rigorous to complete (vs the business programs of course) especially for someone like myself who has been out of school for a long time and been working for a while. I really want to pursue the BS Marketing degree but at the same time, I'm like some folks out there having been in the workforce for 20 years, just want a BS degree with the least path of resistance (work plus school is never fun!). As I previously posted, I need to take the College Algebra CLEP or a Pre-calculus class on top of that Statistics (ugh) for the BS Marketing degree. I'm not very knowledgeable as far as a BS Liberal Arts degree is concerned, but I'm hoping someone on the forum could please answer some of my questions that come to mind (pardon my ignorance please):

1. What kind of jobs can you find with a BS Liberal Studies degree?
2. Can you continue on and pursue an MBA with this degree?
3. Since I have some older college and Applied Pro credits, maybe I can get a BS Liberal Studies degree first, then the BS Marketing degree next (time permits)?
4. I wouldn't mind getting an un-official review for this program, but from the looks of the requirements, I may be closer to the Liberal Studies degree than to the Marketing degree for which I still need around 54 hours.

-Any insight, advice or recommendations you could provide I would highly appreciate.
