Hi all I'm new to Excelsior and plan to take the Accounting CPA track degree. I have been searching for info all over and came across this very informative site. I was wondering if anyone here has done the Accounting track and could provide some tips or a road map. Also If I take CLEP tests and send it to excelsior do I need to pay a fee (at Excelsior) for the credits? Thanks!

Hi everybody,
In the past 45 days I have sent 4 emails to TESC (3 to Financial Aid and 1 to Technical Support) and have not received any kind of response at all! I don't overload them with stupid questions either, of these 4 emails, I would have only sent the 1 if they had responded.. the others were follow ups.
I feel like they are ignoring me!
It is really unusual because I used to get an automatic response right away that said "Ticket Created" and then within a day or two they would respond with the answers to my questions and it would say "Ticket Solved".
I don't know if its a technical problem with their Ticket system or if they are just shunning me (for what I have no idea).
I am really hoping to have everything together to attend soon but I really don't like this. If they are just outright ignoring me then I don't feel that is very professional and will consider finishing my degree somewhere else.
Does anyone have any insight into what may be happening? I am not having any email trouble with anyone else.
Thanks a lot if you have any insight or advice!

Free Psychology textbook on Zinio |

After subscribing to an online magazine version on zinio.com, I remembered that they offered digital textbooks. Last time I checked, they only had the Genetics textbook as a free sample. Now I see that they added two more at:
New Textbooks, 50% off & Totally Digital, only McGraw-Hill & Zinio
Understanding Psychology and Understanding Business.
I had previously bought a digital textbook through coursesmart.com, but those textbooks expire after 6 months. Zinio's don't seem to have the same restriction.
A cool feature at Zinio, depending on the publication, you may be allowed to send digital copies to friends for free (they even want you to spread the word). Not bad. I can confirm that Women's/Men's Health support this feature.
All that's missing is a good ebook reader, after many failed experiences, I'm still holding out for the ultimate device, but things seem to be progressing too slowly on that front. Nothing beats print, yet (I know, some of you are thinking: nothing beats forests as much as print).

Hello Everyone
I got my OPI language test results back from ACTFL (American Council on Testing Foriegn Languages)
I got an Advanced/ High Superior rating which means that I get 8 Lower Division + 4 Upper Division credits!! I am practically dancing for joy!!
These credits are forwarded thru ACE to the institution of choice. I have sent them to TESC. Lets see how they fall into my evaluation.......
Will keep you guys posted. Thanks to all those who gave me the links to the possibility of language testing.
(The exam fyi was $140 + $75 to get it sent to ACE)

AP study guides vs. CLEP study guides |

Do you think there is a problem with using AP study guides to study for CLEP tests?
I am currently studying for the Principles of Microeconomics CLEP and I have not found many good study guides for the material. (REA doesn't look very comprehensive and all of the Pass Your Class materials look absolutely worthless.) I am thinking about using Princeton's Cracking the AP Economics Macro & Micro Exams, by David Anderson.
Is this a good move, or does anyone have any suggestions for helpful CLEP microecon study guides? Thanks.

Hello, I want to take the DSST MIS exam in February. I am confused about what to study. The DANTES website lists two textbooks (although I don't want to comb through 800+ pages) and this site has exams for $20 per month. Someone mentions Peterson's, but I can't find anything relating to MIS. How do I study for this exam? I am willing to put in the time, but I need some direction. I already bought one of the two recommended texts (the cheaper on). Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
