Hello Everyone,
I have the College Mathematic computer adminsitered test on monday and I'm extremely nervous! Math is my weakest subject. I haven't taken any math courses since 1980. I've used instacert for a while but I stil don't feel completely confident in my math skills. Can anyone give me any notes or advice about the computer version of the test. Many thanks. I'm planning on transferring my CLEP credits to TESC and I was curious about whether or not they actually see the scores that are made on the exams or whether they simply see a "pass" on them. Also, I'm a senior in Highschool and haven't actually taken the ACT yet. Does TESC require an entrance ACT score? I'm scheduled to take one on the 13th I was just wondering whether I needed to send that in to TESC or not.
Thanks ~JD

Navy Defense Language Proficiency Test |

The Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) is an exam utilized by the DoD. While not its primary function, it has been evaluated by ACE for credit. The credit recommendation is here:
http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Se...ntID=24546
To my knowledge, testing is only available to a select few civilians who work directly for the DoD. It is open to all military members.
Until recently, the Navy only allowed most military members to test for the Listening and Reading portions of the exam. A recent change (June 2008) has opened up the possibility for the Oral portion to also be taken. A score of 3 must be made in both Listening and Reading categories to be eligible for the Oral portion. If the scores are met, a form can be filled out and turned into the Testing Control Officer.
Full details for Naval personnel can be found on the Navy Advancement Center under the Defense Language tab.
The credit that can be earned is huge. For example, when taking the Korean test if one were to score a 3 in each category (Listening, Reading, and Oral) one would earn 45 credits.

Hi, I will be finishing high school this December and I was wanting to get my bachelors degree as quickly as possible. I have read about the GRE and CLEP tests. I understand I can get up to 30 credit hours for making above an 80% on my GRE, but will this negate any CLEP tests I might take. For example, would I get credit for English Comp I with my GRE, and taking it as a CLEP would be a waste of time and money? Honestly, I could use a lot of help with this. I would love if someone could point me to an outline that would show me the fastest way possible to get my bachelors of arts degree. Thanks very much for any and all help.
ACT Score 27.
SAT Score 1440.

Hi,
I have never had Biology, and was wondering if this was a doable exam for someone who never took it. If it is -- what is the best approach. I have the REA clep prep book for this exam, but it seems overwhelming. I would really like to take and pass this clep. Any advice ?

TESC BAPsych, will DSST Foundations of Counseling Apply? |

For those who have pursued/are pursuing a TESC BA in Psychology, do you know if the DSST Foundations of Counseling can be applied as a major elective (i.e., a Psychology elective)? Looking at the TESC list of TECEPs, they have a 'Introduction to Counseling' TECEP with an outline that matches DSST's 'Foundations of Counseling' outline. The TECEP is listed as a Psych course equivalent, but in TESC's catalog they list the DSST as a Human Services equivalent, not a Social Science equivalent.
The reason I ask is, 1) a DSST is much less expensive than a TECEP, and 2) I strongly suspect that given DSST's immediate scoring, a DSST would be credited a lot faster than a TECEP. Thoughts?
