Hi, I've enjoyed reading a lot of the posts on this forum but I'm having trouble with the finding unproctored final exams in upper level courses.
I am enrolled at Excelsior and need the following credits to get the BSL (Liberal Arts)
12 upper level credits in arts and sciences
6 lower level credits in Written English
3 lower level credits in the Capstone Course Requirement
Can anyone recommend tests/courses I can take completely from home (no proctored exams) to meet these?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Victor

Hello Everyone,
I was recently searching for what credits could be applied to TESC's free electives, as those are the only ones I have left for my Nat. Science & Math BA. I happened upon this site, and all the talk of FEMA credits.
Since FEMA credits are no longer accepted, what would be the quickest way to fulfill these? I am a noob when it comes to getting through degrees quickly. Any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance! cheersmate

Which School to Choose for a Dual Baccalaureate Degree, COSC or TESC? |

I am inquiring about obtaining a dual major Baccalaureate degree. This will be my first Baccalaureate degree and I would like to obtain a History and a Criminal Justice degree. Should I just go for the fastest degree and then proceed to the Masters degree? I am a 20 year Navy Reservist and I have 15 years of law enforcement experience.
I am torn between COSC and Thomas Edison State College right now. I have heard good things about both colleges. I am looking for the fastest and most cost efficient way to achieve this goal. I currently have 73 community college credits with a GPA of 3.539 plus ( 147 CLEP/DSST exam credits, 35 military credits, and a DOL 4,000 hour security certificate on my SMART transcript). I graduated with an AGS degree with honors in Dec 2013 and I also have about 9 FEMA courses completed.
I would like to start with my cornerstone course ASAP and I am hoping that with my current credits that I can accomplish this goal with only completion of the cornerstone and capstone courses. I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed to get this accomplished ASAP or what you suggest. I am planning on entering a Master's degree program and want to complete it within one year, any advice here would also be greatly appreciated.
Here is a list of CLEP/DSST exams I have passed:
Natural Sciences
Social Sciences and History
Introduction to Computing
Ethics in America (Essay)
Introduction to Law Enforcement
Criminal Justice
Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Contemporary Western Europe 1946-1990

Working on my Individualized Studies Capstone and flying solo (I'm on a Contract Learning Agreement due to a Financial Aid issue). As such, I have nobody essentially to bounce questions off of. Professor seems friendly but isn't quick to respond. Does anyone have any examples of Capstones or ideas on what a reasonable length should be? My concentration is Political Science/Journalism - I am writing an Investigative Essay on Politics, the Media and Generation Y.
Help is appreciated!!:coolgleam:

Six-week classes |

Have you ever taken a class that used a highly-compressed structure? If so, what did you think about it?
If given the choice, I'd rather take a class with a 14- or 16-week format, because it gives me more flexibility in choosing classes, a better opportunity to digest new material, and a chance to work ahead instead of always submitting assignments right before the deadline - especially if team projects are involved.
While I strongly disliked 6-week classes (even for an otherwise easy class, it's too much work in too short a time, giving you no slack time on assignments), 8-week classes can work nicely for nontechnical topics.
