Unless you live and breathe politics, I'd take US History any day.

US History I - Wide and Shallow
US Govt - Narrow and Deep To me, US Govt is the better choice, but don't be fooled by it - you MUST study!

Just took the american gov't test and it was harder than i thought. I studied for around 4 weeks, 2 hours/day and passed with a 50! It really needs studious studying. Look at the specific feedback section, it really does the trick for all exams. Good luck and keep us posted on your results.

I would take U.S. History I. I recommend using the Cliff's Quick Review for U.S History I and InstantCert for study materials.

4pancakes Wrote:American Government or US History 1 ????? I need to prepare quickly which is easier????I've taken both tests. US History I is easier if you have any prior knowledge in this area. Having been homeschooled almost all of my life, I had a lot of history in my head before I started to study for this test. American Government, while containing perhaps more difficult, abstract materials, is definitely more narrowly focused. I was very impressed with the IC flashcards for this subject. If you decide to take it, a deep study of the IC cards (using Wikipedia on subjects you are unfamiliar with) should be plenty to pass. Or -- why not take both? ![]()

jacanyardie Wrote:US HIS 1 & 11 then Amer. Gov.Yes, come to think of it, my knowledge of US History I aided me on the American Government exam. Perhaps that would be the best way to go about it. US History I (and II if desired) then American Government.
