You said it and I went by other member's experiences also.

You'll want to transfer in as much as possible to complete the degree in as few terms as possible.

I took America Government at UMPI and it was easy! I had to write a 1500 word essay. I finished the course content and the essay in 3 days.

Eng Comp 1 & 2 is MUCH easier and faster at UMPI. (than Sophia)

Many of their (UMPI) courses require much less work than taking the course elsewhere such as SDC.

So you kinda pulled a Fauci and said things both ways depending on what thread you are looking at.

In some UL Study.com courses, you are writing 3 papers along with taking the course and doing the exam which the same UMPI course may require 1 paper. Every course is different, some are harder or easier than others.

Some courses you may not be saving time but still, I think it's a good idea to get as close as possible to 90 transfer credits for courses that have been proven to transfer into UMPI.

Having said all of that, in your exact situation given how many credits you already earned and how fast it took you to earn those credits, I would be shooting to start UMPI no later than 08/30/21 even if you are short some transfer credits.

I was surprised that I went through them as quickly as I did. The once that took me the longest were Biology from Study, Micro, and Business Law. Those took me about 2 weeks each. I was soaking them all in. But the fast pace I did helped keep my attention span. I’ve always had bad self esteem when it came to school because I had a tough time focusing.

Best case scenario and I’m able to do 8 courses in 8 weeks. Worst case would be 4. I think if I end up doing less than 4, I’d be extremely disappointed. I do definitely want to start 8/30. I’m also hoping that my graphic design courses that I took years ago would give me credit. But if not, I won’t lose sleep over it.

I’m still going to attempt to CLEP English. But if I’m unable to, at least I know that I have a good plan B with taking it at UMPI.

I actually wasn't even aware that the HR course that I took was ever a UL. I knew it would at least cover an LL elective and that's fine, I just needed a quick course that I was familiar with when I was doing Study. For Eng Comp, when you say easy and fast, wouldn't it still be taking up time that I could otherwise be using for my other courses? Or is it that quick that the time is not noticeable?

Eng Comp on Sophia is multiple papers and takes a long time because you can't do anything while you wait for your grade to come back which takes several days. None of mine came back in less than a week. Most were taking about 10 days. Eng Comp atUMPI is 1 paper. I completed Eng Comp 2 at UMPI in 3 days. And by completed I mean read the course content, wrote my rough draft, submitted my rough draft, received feedback from the professor, made edits, submitted my final version of the Final Assessment. This was all done in 3 days. I spent 75 days on Sophia and still had 2 more papers to go when I gave up and took it at UMPI instead.

Nowhere there did I say UMPI is no harder than Study.com. You're totally misinterpreting my statements. Saying a course is less work is not the same as saying thing as a course is harder or easier. Many courses at UMPI have less course content and fewer papers. All of SDC courses don't have papers.

Both Sociology 305 and Business 313 Organizational Communication had APA style research papers. Had I known I was going to UMPI I probably would have skipped them since they're both LLs and would probably only transfer as electives.

They both came in as LL on your evaluation?

I haven't attempted to get evaluated yet.

I presume based on this https://study.com/college/school/umpi.html

After checking Study's website again, it appears that Business 313 may transfer as Business 210 but either way, I covered that on Sophia.

That list is new! This is awesome! Yup Business 313 will come in as BUS210. Well at least now you have experience writing an APA paper. You'll be writing a bunch of them at UMPI.

You are getting into semantics.  You asked me for a direct example, and I gave it to you.

Here's another example from this thread.
"For Study.com I wouldn't recommend much beyond Biology there.  While you may need to do 15-20 classes at UMPI it's typically much easier to do it there versus study.com etc. " said Ashkir

(06-29-2021, 10:05 AM)ss20ts Wrote: The average student at UMPI completes 2-3 courses per term.

Where do you get this number from?  Was there a survey of students done that included important information such as time spent doing coursework or previous experience in online coursework?  How many of these people had a full Pell Grant and didn't need to hurry?

Is this just a number some academic personal told you?  Is this number really an accurate number DF members should go by when planning their degree?

Can your break down your semantics on what you mean by "average student".  How many students is that? >50% , 50%, 25%, 1%, one?

When saying Eng Comp 2 is easier at UMPI than on Sophia I meant it was easier because you had to write 1 paper instead of 6 papers like you do at Sophia. Same with Study. Many of their UL courses require you write multiple papers. It's always easier to write 1 paper than multiple papers. I was not referring to the difficulty of the course. The level of difficulty will vary drastically from person to person.

My statement about the average student completing 2-3 courses per term in the YourPace program came directly from the Executive Director of YourPace. They do keep track of how many courses every student completes every term. The average YourPace student is also a working adult in Maine. Folks from this forum are not their average student. Even people from here have often times completed 2-3 courses in a term. I know from my private conversations with them. Those who complete 8 or 10 courses in a term are outliers and are not the norm. Just like those who complete their entire degree at WGU in 1 term. Those are outliers and far from the norm. When I enrolled no one had completed more than 10 classes in a single term at that point. That has changed since I enrolled. If you want the answers to your questions you're free to contact UMPI. I'm done discussing this with you.
