I’m seeing how long it’s taking to get the transcripts over and have them evaluated. These are all of the courses that I’ve done:

Business 106: Human Resource Management
That's only 75 credits and not quite the 90 I was shooting for. Next will be for me to do Spanish and American Gov on IC. Depending on how much more time I’d have left, I was planning on taking Managerial Accounting as well on IC and possibly take a CLEP test for English. I would like to start UMPI in the Fall (program start date 8/30). My question is, should I register now so that I can have my transcript processing instead of waiting until 8/5 (the registration date that I gave myself)? Also, can you help me wrap my head around a timeline? If everything goes right, I’m looking at anywhere between 16-19 courses that I’d have to take at UMPI. Do you think that would be doable to do in 2 sessions? BTW, I’ll be going for the BABA in Management & Leadership. I would also love to include the Project Management as a minor if possible but if not, I’m okay without it.
Wait to apply. Once you apply you'll be accepted and automatically enrolled. There's no registering. Once you've been accepted you need permission to take classes outside of UMPI and transfer them in.

I wouldn't spend my time on a CLEP for Eng Comp. The Eng Comp courses at UMPI are VERY easy and fast. You need to complete a minimum of 30 credits there.
No I do not think you will complete 16-19 courses in 2 terms. That's not realistic for the vast majority of the population. The average student completes 2-3 courses per term. Terms are only 8 weeks long. Every course is also not offered every term and some have prereqs you'll need to complete.

Yikes. So I'm looking at....at the very least 5 terms and most, possibly 9---assuming I were an average student. Which I'd say is a pretty safe assumption. Financially I have to prepare to spend somewhere between 7k and 12,600. Wow. I was hoping to wrap my head around a possibility of 3 terms.

3 terms would be 5-7 courses each term which is a lot. You have to remember that you're writing papers not completing Sophia courses. Most of the Final Assessments are research papers. Some people can write them faster than others. It all depends on how well you understand the material and how much time you have to dedicate to the courses. The program is called YourPace because you move at YourPace. No one can predict how quickly anyone can get through the classes. Some classes have a lot of content. Others can be completed in a few days. It all depends on you. You can also work on more courses now and transfer in more credits.

You can get your classes transcribed now and tell them you're still working on Sophia, etc, and delay your admission by a term. Just tell them you'd like to transfer in a few more but aren't completely done yet, and they should transcribe what you currently have. So if you're done with Sophia, transfer that now, get your evaluation.
For Study.com I wouldn't recommend much beyond Biology there. It'd take about a week if you work at it non-stop. InstantCert would take about the same time if you dedicate yourself to it as well. I would recommend Spanish at InstantCert and Biology with Lab at study.com then transfer ASAP and just do the rest at UMPI. While you may need to do 15-20 classes at UMPI it's typically much easier to do it there versus study.com etc. You might end up needing a third term, but that's okay! Study.com is expensive anyways, but, with UMPI you can use FAFSA and a Pell Grant, in fact if you have Pell Grant you can ask for an ACADEMIC JUDGEMENT to waive all your other costs. If you lost a job, etc, so your income isn't as high as it was two years ago ASK FOR AN ACADEMIC JUDGEMENT they can reevaluate and give you "bonus" financial aid money from the university financial aid budget! These are meant to help in times of hardship!!!
The sooner you get started after you finish at least Sophia, the faster you an be done with your degree. If you continue dragging your feet thinking maybe 1 more instantcert class, maybe sophia will add something new, you're just delaying time yourself. I ended up just dealing with the extras at UMPI to get it DONE. Thanks for the info.! The evaluation of Ace credit going on right now is a good point! The instantcert classes maybe can be started and just in the process of finishing category then for the transcripts sake.

IC business ethics course would be for the class BUS 353: Legal & Ethical Environment of Business. I don't think this course has been confirmed it would transfer as of yet. Getting that course of the way gets you one step closer to 90 credits. I don't know if you want to be the guinea pig and attempt to take it with confirming first that it will transfer in.
In terms of time, I would say the average student should be able to commit 20hrs per week to their studies. If the average UMPI course takes 20hrs each, then that should be at least 8 courses per semester at least.
It's been repeated many times that courses on UMPI are no harder than Study.com. Study.com business or basic general ed type courses take no more than 20hrs to do. If you put a gun to my head, I could do a Study.com UL finance course with exam + one paper in under 4 hours.

This is encouraging. Thank you. It took me about a week to do Study's Business 313 and it had 1 APA style paper. I can definitely commit at least 20 hours a week (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening). I could even add some time in between. I can definitely commit more time on the weekends.
Once I finish all of the courses that I know will transfer, I'll do BUS 353 if I have time. Even if it doesn't transfer, I don't mind learning. I enjoyed the Business Law in Sophia and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy this.

UMPI ends up being around $700 per month. Their essays are a lot looser on APA guidelines and nowhere near as strict as Sophia's for example. They more care if you understand the concept versus repeating it perfectly.
If you get the PELL GRANT ask for an academic adjustment, and they'll ONLY use your Pell Grant and give you no bill. If you were put out of work last year due to COVID or other circumstances so your 2018 or 2019 income is no longer an accurate assessment via FAFSA ask for an academic adjustment and you can eliminate more out of pocket costs.

That's good news for me about the APA guidelines. I'm more familiar with APA than MLA since that's all I did in Study.com and Sophia. So if all of the courses that I need are APA, that eliminates having to figure out another setup.
Based on my efc, I highly doubt that I'll be getting any grants. Since I'm in healthcare I've been working the entire time. I feel like I'm in the cusp where I make just enough to get by but not enough to receive financial assistance. I do have 3 months worth salary saved up for incase of emergency and I think they calculate that too. I'm trying to find ways to cut cost now so that I'm a bit more prepared. Unless they have scholarships for single parents in their 40s, I think I'm out of luck on financial assistance. Which is why I'm hoping to get this done sooner than later without driving my brain crazy and at the same time still continue to do my day job without neglecting my parental responsibilities. I know it's a tall order

I don't recall anyone transferring in Business Ethics from InstantCert for BUS353. UMPI is reevaluating ACE transfer courses so I would not expect a LL to come in as a UL.
The average student doesn't commit to 20 hours a week to studies at UMPI. There isn't an average course length time wise. It varies drastically between the course content and the Final Assessment. There is no set length for course content. It's VERY RARE for a student to complete 8 courses in a term. The average student at UMPI completes 2-3 courses per term which is 4-6 per semester.
Who has said UMPI is no harder than Study.com? I completed Financial Management at UMPI and which had a 3 hour exam for the Final Assessment. It is physically impossible to complete that course in 4 hours. Out of my 16 courses it had the most content by far. There was a great deal of math and problems you had to complete before you could open the next module. It took me over 2.5 hours to complete the exam. That class was a lot of work and a lot of information to wrap your head around. I spent 2+ weeks on that course and earned an A.

There are no scholarships for the YourPace program at this time.

I re-read some of our pm's a few months ago and it jogged my memory. You told me then about 3-4 classes per term I don't know where in the world I got the idea that I could do finish all these courses in 2 terms...lol. I must have gotten too excited. I actually wasn't even aware that the HR course that I took was ever a UL. I knew it would at least cover an LL elective and that's fine, I just needed a quick course that I was familiar with when I was doing Study. For Eng Comp, when you say easy and fast, wouldn't it still be taking up time that I could otherwise be using for my other courses? Or is it that quick that the time is not noticeable?
