UVEG - Inexpensive Official Degrees in Mexico
#11
The payment of my course was very streamlined. If you do it online, the payment clears in just a few hours. They send you an email saying everything is ready and you can download your pdf with your grade. The CURP number appears on the file. Has a QRcode that I assume is for ID verification of a student's records. Doesn't state how many credits the course is worth, just the number of hours. So now I will have to see about getting it translated.

Very nice.
It say "educación continua"-
Please tell us if you can get credits for this.
It says 60 hours. No credits(since it is continuous education, I guess)

It says the grade in the pdf, so I am going to cross my fingers it is worth something. I am thinking of doing several of these cheap courses since they can be done very quickly. I wonder if Spantran can translate several courses in 1 batch or it must be per course.

Oh! I haven't translated my diplomas to English yet, costs quite a bit of money and I wantedbto rest for a few months. Was getting burnout. I just signed up for one of their masters degrees however and have confirmation a CURP number is not necessary to be accepted for a bachelors or masters program. They accept foreigner national ID numbers. I will assume for American students, they just need to share their SSN number. Payments can be done online via Bancomer or Banamex apps. Not sure if foreigners can pay via credit card. I guess they could open an account but they would physically need to travel to Mexico and have at least 3500 mxn in the account at all times.

Giving a bit of an update on this thread. As I expected, the huge success of the UVEG's IT and Computer Science degrees has enticed them to expand degree offerings.

It isn't 100% official, but the dean held an speech during the most recent graduation a few days ago and mentioned the university will soon offer a Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity.

Some people feel excited the university keeps on growing, others seem concerned this degree might not have the best job prospects due to tech degree oversaturation. There have been a few comments they would have preferred this to be a masters degree, which would make good business sense becaude the school could lure the sizeable amount of alumni with related tech degrees where the masters could nicely complement what they already learned.

There has been rumors they might also offer a bachelors program for AI sometime in the future.
