I also meant to ask in my last post if GEL101 / 1002 Introduction to Geology at Eastern Gateway Community College and is 4 credit hours satisfy the 3E equivalent or does it need to be a Biology course?

Sophia, Davar, and Coopersmith do not have lab sciences.
Study has been the fastest and easiest way to complete a lab science for UMPI.
In the past UMPI has accepted the following ASU courses as lab sciences. I can't tell you what courses have proctors.
These have to be taken together.

No one has transferred in a science course from Eastern Gateway to UMPI. A geology lab science course does work for 3E. It's up to UMPI if these accept that course though. It would also take longer than Study. I can't imagine it being cheaper either.

Study can be completed in a month or less. The lab is a virtual lab which is far easier than being in a lab for 2-3 hours every week for a semester. @ss20ts
It looks like he would not take just take a Biology Science, but, any Science with a Lab that you listed from ASU would potentially work at UMPI?
The Geology class with a Lab that is at Eastern Gateway Community College is free and is 8 weeks long. However, it still sounds like the Biology class at Study.com would still be quicker. How much is Study.com per month? From what I have seen, it looks like it takes people about a 1 month to finish the SDC Biology class or less time?
Thanks,

Study is $199 for a month and that includes 2 exams - so 2 courses. I believe there is a fee for the lab. The folks I know who've completed the bio lab completed it in under a month.
I can't say any lab science will work. UMPI does have to approve the transfer credit. We know they accept the Study bio with lab course. They haven't accepted the geo class from EGCC yet.

Actually, Coopersmith has lab sciences:
Environmental Science (SCI-104) 4cr - In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 4 semester hours in Environmental Science or as a core science requirement, including a laboratory component (6/14).
Anatomy and Physiology I + Lab (SCI 201) 4cr - In the associate/certificate degree category OR in the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in Biological Sciences (6/16)(5/21 revalidation). NOTE: With the lab component, in the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 4 semester hours in Biological Sciences (6/16)(5/21 revalidation).

No, StraighterLine's Microbiology course does not fill the lab science requirement according to the transfer database. General Chem I w/ lab, Intro to Bio w/ lab, Anatomy and Physiology 1 & 2 w/ lab have all been accepted as the lab science for the GEC.

I've never seen lab sciences on Coopersmith. Weird. They're also NCCRS which UMPI rarely accepts. Coopersmith doesn't appear in the transfer database that I can find.

@EducationSeeker - How are you getting the science & lab course free at Eastern Gateway Community College? If no one has transferred that to UMPI, it doesn't really mean it isn't accepted, it means no one has tried. Having said that, I would still try getting it done with Study.com, a Bio & online lab for the win.
@ejel55, I would skip the StraighterLine sciences as the lab kit itself is probably going to cost you more than it would for taking it at Study.com

I was responding to something said previously about Coopersmith not having labs. I don't want someone to read that not realizing that it's incorrect.
BUT, UMPI doesn't accept NCCRS, so I'm not going to suggest that the OP takes one of these.

@bjcheung77-
Eastern Gateway Community College is offering tuition free classes for local residents in a 3 county area for the 2022-2023 school year. One class my son is looking at is 8 weeks long. However, this is still longer than the Study.com course. Do you know how long the ASU or other Lab Science classes last?

ASU classes are 8 or 15 weeks, depending on the class. I forget how long the science ones are.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

As an update, I talked to Jessica UMPI and she confirmed that the ASU online courses BIO 181 General Biology I or BIO 201 Human Anatomy & Physiology I w/Lab would transfer but BIO100 would not transfer. It has to be a Biology class to meet the 3C and 3D requirement and they are 4 credit hours and 8 weeks long. This is a good option if you don't want a proctored class, but, sounds longer than the Study.com BIO100 class which might take about 1 month. I think the ASU class would run about $400 if you take the grade.
The local community college is offering free tuition this Fall and they have an 8 week Biology class so he may do it there depending on the amount of time he is willing to spend on this class.
