For the
new GLO [C], I was wondering if anybody had any guesses as to what the easiest natural science course would be.
I was looking at the course descriptions, and from my armchair QB POV, it seems like
BIO 205 - Complex Adaptive Systems might be the easiest based on the description. However, it says that course won't be available until Spring 2027.
So, from the following courses that are available in YourPace, does anybody have any guesses on how they would rank from easiest to hardest? We know from previous student feedback that
BIO 105 - Biology for Everyday Life was difficult.
YourPace Natural Science courses:
BIO 105 - Biology for Everyday Life
BIO 203 - Human Health, Immunity, and the Microbiome
BIO 205 - Complex Adaptive Systems
GEY 112 - Fundamentals of Geology

BIO105 is the only course that's been around for a while. It was a freaking nightmare. Waiting for an owl pellet to be shipped to you and then you had to do labs with it was just weird. I don't remember seeing any international students actually receive the pellet either....you know prohibited importing of animals/animal waste kind of thing.
I haven't seen anyone take science classes at UMPI in ages. It will be interesting to see how this works out with the change in science classes.

LMAO I'll have to use this one from now on
The only science course that I had to take at UMPI was a special topics in science course that was on environmental science.

I have been hearing BIO 203 isn't bad. No labs. 6 milestones. 1 essay and 1 30+ slide powerpoint at the end.
I probably will end up taking BIO 205 because it sounds interesting.
I have 4 cr. Physical Geology w/ lab on my transcript but they only accepted it as an elective. I should appeal and see if I can get it to cover GEY 112; worth a try I guess.

@Swiss Cognac, yes, try the appeal and see if it does come in, hopefully, not as an elective. Keep us updated!

After looking at the new GEC, wouldn't any of the 4 credit science courses like Microbiology + Lab, Anatomy and Physiology + Lab, or Intro to Chemistry + Lab satisfy the natural science requirement? I would also imagine that Environmental Science should suffice? Or is the requirement that it MUST have a lab associated with it? I would imagine any of the Sophia lab courses should suffice.
