UMPI Bachelor Degree Requirements - Gen Ed, Electives, Major
#1
UMPI degrees are somewhat flexible and there are several majors and/or minors that interest prospective students, most students I see are having a hard time deciding where to obtain transferable credit.  There is information on the WIKI for degree plans, but with the recent changes at Study.com, you may want to investigate using them as an alternative credit provider to max your transfer credits before you start your UMPI degree.

As always, create a spreadsheet of the requirements, use it for reference and tracking purposes and also max your transfer with alternative credit. Study.com just rolled out a major update: No more unnecessary quizzes, no proctoring, no busywork, 100% online and self-paced, and new pricing models.

College Starter – $95/month: Unlimited courses (in a month), enroll in 2 at time (lower division)
College Saver – $235/month: Access to all upper + lower division, enroll in 3 courses at a time, with no limit on how many you can take in a month

An example of using Study.com to max those alternative credits for transfer, if you completed 6 courses in one month using the $95 plan, that’s just about $15 per course. Way below the cost of most providers, and you’re earning real, transferable college credit.

Here’s the link I’ve been using to explore more: https://bit.ly/3RTJ3I9

What do you think of the changes? It seems like Study.com is making things cheaper, easier, faster for students...

Whoa BJ, wait a sec!? SDC changed their model? No more quizzes? When did this happen? How does it work now?

For college credit courses at SDC, lesson quizzes are no longer required, but a chapter test for each chapter is now required. Both the chapter tests and final tests are now unproctored.

So how does the grading work now? It used to be quizzes, projects (sometimes), and final exam were each a 3rd of your grade to pass and most of the time you just had to nail two of the three to pass. Is it still similar? How do they administer unproctored exams? Can’t believe I’m just now hearing about this.

Thanks for the links BJ!!

One thing I'm slightly confused about, saw a few comments stating you had to start a new SDC account to take advantage of the new pricing, is this true?

Edit: Never mind, got an answer from Reddit. Thanks for the links/info though!
