UExcel Political Science - Finished and exam format
#1
Took the UExcel Political Science and was surprised that it was 120 questions, not 100.

It was relatively easy as the only study material I had were the IC Flashcards for American Government (which don't correspond perfectly but are helpful), the UExcel practice exams (2 @ $18 each), the content guide and some wikipedia and googling of definitions.

Not a terribly hard test with a broad representation of issues covered in the content guide. I think that the content guide is about 85% on point and it helps to focus on the issues that have more subtopics.

I was concerned about how the test results would be given and found that you receive a letter grade of either A, B, C or F. C is the minimum grade recommended by ACE to grant credit so that was my minimum too. The score report also includes a sheet that says the percentage questions correct including the diagnostic questions that you got in each section. Helpful I'm sure if you fail, but useless for me knowing I passed.

I only found one post with any info on this exam so that's why I'm posting a new thread. I am happy to answer whatever questions I'm able to about this exam.

Next up is a series of CLEPS; American Government, US History 1&2, one of the two Western Civs (most likely 2) and then Biology.

Awesome, so how does excel work anyway? Proctored or all online?

Proctored by Pearson VUE, same company that proctors the GMAT.

I thought I was going into Fort Knox; two palm scans, checked my ID, made me read some rules, sign a digital signature pad, empty my pockets, checked for a watch and more. It was pretty intense security. Everyone else around me was taking the GMAT.

If you need a Political Science credit like I did, I would definitely recommend this exam.
