No, but I didn't send it to Nancy, I sent it to Lyla Grandstaff, Vice President of Enrollment Services.

Here is what I got from the WGU evaluation:

Student must send in an official transcript from Pierpont Community and Technical College with degree conferral listed in order to award credit by an associates degree.

@Quigongene thank you for the update!

I was informed today I am now one credit short to graduate. Nancy said she thought I had everything I needed but she "Accidentally" gave me credit for my developmental English and math class, Upon discovering the error she removed my credits for them. It's not a big deal, I'll either transfer in one of the TEEX or Sophia classes. If I don't do that, I might take a course there with my aid. That way I get a transcript. I shouldn't have to, but sometimes you have to play the game.

We will see.

I was looking at their class selections last night, because my son is considering the BOG AAS after he finishes his 10 month Nationally Accredited program in Personal Fitness Training and I found a one hour class that is an introduction to health professions and a two hour class that is an introduction to Emergency Services, that are both online. You just have to check their schedule and class descriptions to find something. Cost isn't a huge issue for us because he has money put aside for him in a 529, so he may go ahead and take a class to go around the problem.

As a 2017 graduate, I am a huge fan and proponent of the BOG program. I think it is great for the State of West Virginia to offer this to the people of their state and also not EXCLUDE the residents of other states. Nancy Parks was a huge help to me, and I thought she went way above and beyond to help me. Especially considering that I never gave Pierpont or the State of WV, a single penny. I was also pleased that Pierpont didn't have a Residency Requirement, like some of the other WV schools did. However, with the huge success of the program, and the complaints that Pierpont is having regarding transcripts, I have a feeling that those requirements may change in the future.

I also found that Pierpont does not report your accomplishments to the National Clearinghouse, if you did not take classes there. I recently procured a new job in Government in the I.T. sector. Their job posting "required" a Bachelor, but they let me slide by with an Associate, and 20 years of experience as Systems Admin. I used a letter from Nancy to verify the degree conferral. I was also lucky in that I have an ASNSM from TESU, and they provided me with a certified transcript.

In summary, there have been few disappointments with Pierpont, and much satisfaction and reward. I am thankful for schools like them.

I’m thankful for the program too, and overall it’s a great thing, but it’s just not helpful the way they intend if you can’t get a transcript and they don’t even report to the clearinghouse. That goes for everyone, WV students included. It’s to boost student marketability, but how is that boosted if you can’t prove it.

What happens when Nancy Parks leaves? Where is the record kept that you even graduated? And if they can keep a record, why not just produce a transcript?

UGH!!! And of course you do. Geeze, Pierpont needs to address this immediately. Will you send that to them? Let them know the trouble you're having???? They need to see this from the user-side of things.
