I should fight this, but I'm not going to, as I'm already three months behind schedule for getting started at WGU. Not having a bachelor's is costing me money via a promotion/raise I can't get until completion.
I got the following from my EC at WGU:
"I can put in a case to have the Pierpont CC excluded, since you earned credit elsewhere. Can you have whoever is in charge of writing the letter saying that you never attended PCC? Have them send it to me and I will attach the letter to the case. Once I put in for the exclusion, you will be sent a form asking you why you want to have the transcript excluded."
I've gone ahead and applied for the exclusion. At worst, I think I have to knock out 6-7 more CUs without the AAS. It's just not worth it.

Not for your situation and timetable. I'm really sorry it didn't work out the way you(we) hoped.

I am so sorry.
If this is the case, which it looks to be, I am screwed, and any student that needs an official transcript to continue with their education is also screwed. I needed the academic forgiveness provided by this degree, I have followed all the rules and met the requirements, and now it's as good as nothing. When I talked to WGU, my advisor wanted to give me a block transfer of 68 credits plus whatever else he could figure out to give me. If I am forced to send in my transcripts from other places I'll receive much less.
This is not right;
The easiest option would be to take a class at Pierpont, and that solves the issue, but this shouldn't be an issue in the first place. I'm out of ideas, and I can't recommend anyone to take this degree unless they know before hand they will have to take Pierpont credits to receive a transcript.
If you do have the time, I would at least tell Nancy; the letter wasn't acceptable

With all the stuff we have managed to accomplish and change as a group, I have no doubt that we can find a good resolution to this. It may not be in time to help you, but I still think we should give it a shot. This is too good an opportunity to let it get wasted. Plus, we have the ear of the coordinator of the program. This is very doable.
Jennifer, did you e-mail her today?

I rec'd a letter from her asking (this is for my son, but I'm doing the writing) for proof of a computer class and for him to fill out the BOG additional paperwork.
I hope his TEEX courses count, so I took my time and wrote out the sub-courses within the cybersecurity courses to see if it would be computer-y enough for him to demonstrate his computer literacy. I also had a question back for her about the paperwork.... so I will ask, but after she answers me.
Also, I don't think taking 1 course with Pierpont would fix this. Either these courses submitted by BOG candidates are entered into the computer or they're not- and if not, then why? Circles back to the advising worksheet not being in the computer.
So if that's true, then if my son took 1 course at Pierpont, am I to believe Nancy would go in and manually enter in everything else? Where would it go? If there is no advising sheet BEFORE, then there isn't one AFTER.
I don't believe it because it doesn't make sense.
Either the degree plan is in their advising computer or it isn't. If they really are telling us that it is NOT in their computer, then I'd bet a million dollars that if someone decides to take 1 class, that all they'll end up with is a transcript showing 1 class.
Edit to add: I missed Quig's earlier post about TEEX. My son only did 101 and 301 ugh. He isn't going to want to do 201, but I bet he'll have to.
Quig "TEEX InfoSec for Everyone and InfoSec for IT Professionals DOES (comes in as INFO 1999, as did my Hacking & IR class).
TEEX InfoSec for Business Professionals comes in as a BUS elective, as does the 1 credit Sophia freebie."

TO clarify here, this was when Sophia only had one freebie, "Developing Effective Teams". I have no idea what "The Essentials of Managing Conflict" will come in as.

I was thinking about that earlier. Once we are graduated and given our degree, how is that information stored? If we don't have a transcript, she leaves the school, and we need a duplicate degree at some point do they just issue us one? Where/what is that record?
It's making less and less sense the more I think about it.
About the TEEX courses, as coordinator of the program you would think she has at least some say over what things transfer in as. All of the TEEX courses should come in as computer courses. I don't know how the big 3 handle them, but the content is all about cybersecurity, so why should 301 come in as a business course? That doesn't make any sense to me.

It does not make any sense that a school could give you a degree, but no transcript. How is that even possible? You shouldn't be able to do that. I think there is a simple fix for this.
WVNCC was able to give me a transcript without my asking, and they are all the same school system, so they should all have the same computerized system in order to do this.

This situation appears to be quite the ordeal, maybe we all could schedule a group meeting with Nancy and meet in person at the campus and hopefully figure something out.

My favorite part of this problem is that within the past few months, she's ALREADY EVALUATED TEEX courses!?!?!?! Why is this day 1.......
Twice she's told my son he needed to take more courses, the first time she was wrong, this time I'm afraid she might be right- but since she forgot what TEEX courses were, I think I have a chance of getting 301 tagged as computer instead of business.
