Missing 8 credits for ASNSM in CS

Hey guys,

So, I'm in my BSBA capstone, for the kick of it I asked an evaluation for the  ASNSM in CS and I'm not missing much!

I'm missing 2 or 3 creds in gened, but besides that, I'm missing 8 CS credits in my evaluation. Would that be easy to complete? I don't have access to CLEP or DSST.

Anyone has a recommendation on the fastest way to achieve that? I generally prefer StraighterLine or study.com.

Cheapest would be the Saylor courses, just grab any of the 3 they have: MIS, SIT, Software Engineering
Straighterline has one course IT Fundamentals, and C++ Programming - Should come in as COS-107, and COS-213?
Study.com has two computer courses, they'll be transferable to TESU both comes in as COS/CIS courses.
Then there's the FREE credits, the TEEX Cybersecurity, you'll take all 3 for 6 cedits.
Voila! You're already there! Get the FREE credits first, then decide which final course to take.

The unofficial ASNSM-CS eval seems to be missing the theory requirements now. It used to show them.

So I believe if you ask to have ASNSM-CS added, you can see the real requirements and they will be kind of difficult/expensive Your CAP course might count. I can't remember which were the hardest ones to fulfill.

I think they removed the theory requirements? I can't see a mention anywhere on the website, but I see some reference in the archives here.

Missing Credits:
Ethic: 1 credit
Natural World: 2 credits
Cornerstone (probably waived)
CS: 8 credits

Ethics is a mistake, too. That one credit will be waived just as it was for your BSBA. The Natural world credits are probably because you had a Computer course in that slot before, but it's being used in the CS AOS. You will need three CS electives. They can be anything. There's Intro to C++ at Straighterline. There's also Intro to CS I and II at Saylor. Plus you can get lots of CS LL courses at community colleges. If you think you want to do a BACS, then I'd encourage you to pick up UL CS courses.

That makes a lot of sense, I was wondering why I was missing credits in Natural world!

I will not be pursuing a BAC, I'm already a software developer, I will probably go directly for a master, but while I'm there I'd prefer getting the associate since its almost free!

In that case, I'd recommend you consider going with harder UL courses that you think might help with grad school acceptance, like Software Engineering or Computer Architecture since the coursework should be easy enough for you. An algorithms course or AI would be good, but I don't know anywhere to get those cheaply.

Just sharing my experience. I got my hopes up thinking I could get an ASNSM-CS with only 1 or 2 more courses. Then I had the advisor see if the 1-2 I selected would work, and he told me that I had like 5 more requirements to meet. When he added it, then I could see the specific theory requirements again. I don't know why their unofficial eval started not showing those. It definitely used to.

That's weird and concerning, I just asked it to the enrollment office, here what they said:

Dear Mr,

Yes, that is correct there used to be a Theory Requirement in old catalogs of this degree but now you may follow the evaluation as indicated.
