Transfer Credits for Certificates
#1
I have over 200 credits, and my base question is can I transfer these around and get a few quick certs?

Per example, https://catalog.uopeople.edu/ug_term1_it...nd-courses

I have most of those classes knocked out, first of all UoPeople is national and charge per credit to transfer.
What about some RA colleges, I'm just looking for stuff thatI can use to build out a nice academic portfolio.

Great question, unfortunately, without knowing what those 200 credits are, and if they're NA or RA, it's going to be hard to tell what you're close to as you didn't indicate the budget and classes you've taken, what certs you're looking for, etc.  Please give us more details by following the addendum and template here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

If you've got 200 credits, you can get yourself an associates or two at the least, a few certs, but your main goal should remain at getting the Bachelors.  It's great you're trying to get a portfolio, but random certs here and there doesn't really mix/match the balanced mix/match trifecta of certs, degree, experience, it really also depends on what you bring to the table (credits)...

I already got BOG, end of summer I’ll have bachelors and I am preliminary accepted into MAOL.

I have 5 of the Coursea Google Coursera certs, almost all of Sophia, 7 upper level from study mainly in business.

Plus about 6 more classes from a RA art school.

All of basic Gen ed with a lot of technical, and business credits.

Looking for certs I could transfer over and just stack into an academic portfolio. Per the link I gave I have most of those for business, health, and computer science but I’m not sure if transferring credits towards college certs like that is even possible. Furthermore UoPeople is NA, while RA would be better.

I think that this is a case by case basis. You should say which certificate and where you want it. Also you should evaluate if it is financially worth it.
Each university can have different policies about accepting transfer credits for certificates.

TESU offers several undergraduate certificates. If more than 50% of a certificate is completed by transfer credit, you will have to either pay a certificate residency waiver fee, or complete the certificate concurrently with a TESU associate's or bachelor's for which you either meet the TESU residency requirement or pay a degree residency waiver fee, I think.

Are you trying to transfer credits to a free certificate? I don’t think that’s possible. The BOG associates is a unicorn. You might have to settle for the credly badges you already have for some of those and focus on that MAOL.

Those UoPeople certificates are not for credit. I don’t think they transfer credits to those certificates. Also, i don’t think they would add any value. The Google certs from Coursera have more value on their own.

Well that’s the point of my question, to find out if none is like

“Hey [college] will accept 75% to 100% transfer credit for their certificates, however they ONLY [certificate]”

Open ended is pretty fine by me, I’m just trying to see what’s out there.

Thank you, and I think you’re more thank likely right. I was hoping someone might know of something.

Good update, you'll have to research anything out there... As mentioned, you can try the TESU certs if you've got all the classes completed and if you decide to go there for your Bachelors, you can add to that 2 Associates, 2 Bachelors, and X certificates as long as you can get the transfer credits or take the classes.

Basically... You're asking people to complete a puzzle for you without knowing your puzzle pieces, you've provided some idea on those classes with what you've mentioned, but it doesn't indicate the exact classes to let anyone say "Hey, those X classes right there will hit the X cert at TESU or anywhere else".

As you didn't indicate what type of cert subject either... You're best off doing a review of the TESU certs available on the WIKI, and also doing the balanced mix/match trifecta of certs, degree, experience, by doing the Coursera/Edx cheapie/freebie options that may work for you, they have all types of certs from Business to IT.

That’s fair, I could post a list of everything later this weekend.

As far as Coursera/eDX I already have countless certs to the point where a bunch of stuff  is beginning look pointless.

There’s thousands of schools so I was hoping my question could narrow down my search. We have TESU to look into, but wasn’t sure if there were some other arbitrary colleges not apart of The Big 3/5.
