ACE is switching how they transfer your transcripts
#1
Quote:CHANGES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 17, 2020
ACE's College Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT) will no longer be providing print and mail transcript services after January 17, 2020. Over the next few months, we’ll be moving our transcript services to Credly’s Acclaim, the world’s leading digital credential platform. Once the transition is complete, students will be able to share digital badges and order FREE electronic transcripts instantly. We will continue to provide electronic transcripts on the legacy Registry and Transcript Portal throughout the transition.

You will receive further information from us soon about the move to the new platform. If your school is unable to accept electronic transcripts or you have additional questions, please contact the Student Resource Center. This change does not affect the Joint Services Transcript.

I got the same email. Not sure if it matters much for me because I always need the original source documents.

Yeah, I guess that'll save some people money and it seems like an easier transition to all digital vs snail mail in some cases... It won't really affect anyone in regard to getting their transcripts sent to the school as electronically is cheaper, easier, and faster.

Hell, I’ll take cheaper transfers over what they have any day of the week.

this is really great news because it is still free to set up an account (even though it *says* it costs $20, I've had 2 users confirm they set their account up for free) and now you can get transcripts for free. Win win

WES is also using this service for credential reviews:

https://www.wes.org/advisor-blog/wes-digital-badges/

This could be interesting. I have looked at credly before in relation to digital badges. It is a nice wallet for these badges. This could be good if they end up finding a pathway for college credit via digital badges like this program via Ashland University:

http://edgeubadges.com/

Of course, if this is the first step of moving away from the credit hour, this may or may not good.

This will be interesting having all of the college course badges and certification badges all together in one location.
