I took CCM with essay (test center didn't give me an option), and just had confirmed by TESC that CCM without essay is 3 credits for ENC-101 and CCM with essay is 6 credits for ENC-101 and ENC-102.

2011-2013 completed all BSBA CIS requirements except 4 gen eds.
2013 switched major to CS, then took a couple years off suddenly.
2015-2017 finished the CS.

This is iteresting, I had no idea that CLEP had started grading essay's. Pretty cool! All of my experience with an optional essay has been via the school that is accepting the test.
Seems like there can be a great deal more consistancy if CLEP just grades them.

CollegeBoard gives schools the option now: central scoring, or school has full control over the essay topic and scoring. Or, no essay at all.

So TESC will take CCM without an essay for 3 credits? As I said she only needs ENC-101. Why did you not have a option to do it without an essay if that is available?

That's what I was told. She really should confirm it in writing with an advisor first. I'd hate to wind up giving out bad information if it turns out I was misinformed. I can only report what my TESC advisor (military) told me.
I didn't have the option because I took it at a military test center, and was told it was a package deal. I challenged the proctor on the phone the day before about it, but I think he just didn't know because the test only changed last year. He's just handing out the papers; they only do paper tests there. So yes, I spent 3 hours writing essays by hand that day. Fun times. Fuuun times.
