On the multiple choice for the placement  I made 100
On the essay pretest I made a 95

Hello Clep, here I come.

Well done keep going in that diraction

Why respond to a thread from 15 years ago? Seems odd.

If you are reasonably good at writing, grammar, and syntax, then the multiple choice section of the test should be a breeze.

Everyone makes a big deal out of the essay, but it's really not difficult at all. They give you two sources (I think, it's been a year or so) and you write an essay basically taking a position and using the provided sources. There's 20 or 30 minutes to read the sources (which are pretty short) and write the essay. There's a rudimentary text editor in the testing software.

I had no problem completing the essay a few minutes under the allotted time.

If you have any concerns, I do recommend the Modernstates.org (free) CLEP english comp prep course. It will prepare you and build confidence... and if you complete it (takes only a couple days if you spend a couple hours a day), they will pay for your exam AND the proctoring fees.

This CLEP exam has been discontinued. It has been replaced with the College Composition and College Composition Modular exams. I know because I've been taking CLEPs so long that I have credit for both. lol

@Ruby Whitted responded to a 15 year old thread. Usually, this happens when someone just doesn't pay attention, but considering how far they would have had to go back into the archives just to comment on a test they don't even administer anymore leads me to believe this poster is probably a scammer.

They will make a few posts on random threads to seem like legit members, until they pounce and post their suspicious link, whatever that may be.

Wonder what Ol' Ruby is selling?
