Was going to take the Intro to Critical Reasoning TECEP, but that req is already filled, so that's the one they dropped. I've already got over 100 credits and there's not a lot of slots left to fill. The other two I'm taking are the Intro to Comparitive Politics and Federal Income Taxation.
If you really want to take the PHI-1300 TECEP, add a Philosophy BA to your degree plan. https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...hilosophy/
If you already have two BA degrees on your plan, say that you're thinking of switching but you don't want to remove any degrees until you make up your mind. Thanks! Was going to add the Network Technology TECEP, but immediately had second thoughts and dropped it. I wonder if I email them and if it would be possible to replace one of the classes I currently have in Humanities with the PHI-1300 TECEP, just so I can use an RA credit instead of an ACE credit. It's the last 3 RA credits I need.

I would go ahead and take the Network Technology TECEP. Why not? It's free. Maybe you pass, maybe you don't.
I don't think they'll allow you to replace things that are already filled in with the free TECEPs. This is why we need to get... creative if we want to take TECEPs that fill already-filled requirements.

I'm already concerned about the time it will take to study for Federal Income Taxation and will be taking the cornerstone at the same time which I understand is writing intensive. I'm a full-time working mom and feel like adding the Network Technology TECEP is biting off more than I can chew. I've read a lot of the posts about this exam and it seems very intensive to study for. I suppose I can try since it is free after all, but it seems like a bit of a waste.

If you were paying for it, I'd definitely say not to bother. But, right now? Take every free exam that will realistically slot into an open space. If you don't have time to study, sure, you probably won't pass. But you never know. You might surprise yourself.

Don't take it (the Network Technology TECEP) if it is going to throw off your working degree plan; it is easy to get distracted when these free (or super low cost) things come along. Now, I do agree with rachel83az that if you really would like to take the PHI-1300 TECEP, email advising to ADD a 'Philosophy BA'. It could be a good way to earn some needed RA credit on a subject that interests you and leaves you optimistic about passing.

If I add the Philosophy BA, but then don't meet the requirements for it when I'm ready to graduate, what happens to my PHI-1300 credit? I don't intend on taking a second capstone or additional classes just to be able to use 3 RA credits from a free TECEP. I just did a "what if" and it only applied 78 credits to a Philosophy BA, which leaves me pretty far away from finishing. I'm currently working on a BSBA in CIS and Accounting which I have 108 and 99 credits applied, respectively, so I'm fairly close to ending this journey.

In a couple of months, after you've taken the TECEP and gotten the credit, you can ask to have the Philosophy degree removed. You changed your mind.
Assuming you passed and that there isn't already RA credit in the slot, the PHI TECEP will be used by the degree you still have. It won't get removed.

And you don't actually have to have it removed. Just when you apply for graduation for the degree(s) you want, the evaluation for the BA Philosophy remains behind (they don't require you to graduate with every degree evaluated, none of us would ever graduate if so! I had five active evaluations at one point). The TECEP would fall somewhere into your goal degree because RA always override Alternative Credits, even if that means as an elective.

In fact, I heartily recommend everyone leave an unfulfilled degree or cert when they graduate. It continues your enrollment past graduation, which is handy if you want to add other alt credits to your transcript (like extra credits for a CPA), or just want to be able to access student discounts and the like.
