Is there a thread, or wiki page, reviewing or ranking the difficultly of the TECEPs? I believe it has been mentioned many time that the Liberal Art Mathematics is pretty basic, and can always be used as an elective even if a person was going for a BACS (correct?)
I've referred to this one at times, a few times several months ago when I discovered degree hacking and just yesterday at the recent news. I haven't actually done any TECEPs though, full disclosure. I did base my decision for these 2 additional TECEPs off partly off this thread though.
I've also heard that the CIS-1070 TECEP is pretty easy.
A wiki would be awesome too! I second that.
The problem with TECEPs is that, for many, nobody's reported taking them since 2017 or 2018 at the latest. In the paid section of the forum, for instance, the last time someone posted in the Operations Management TECEP thread was in 2016 with a deleted post after. Psychology of Women (now known as Psychology of Gender): 2015.
I would be glad to create a wiki page, but I don't have an awful lot to go on right now.
I believe that there are a few reasons for this:
- Before 2020, RA credit wasn't needed.
- Because of this, it was often hard to justify the cost of the "basic" TECEPs. Why take 1 TECEP for $150+ when you could get 2 SDC exams for $200?
- When specific credits were needed and not covered by SDC, students seemed to prefer going to a testing center for the now-discontinued UExcel exams. (They were often slightly cheaper, depending on the exact exam.)
- It probably helped that there was a wider variety of UExcels compared to TECEPs.
- And that TECEPs are pass/fail with UExcels having given a grade on one's transcript.
- Since 2020, we've had a huge influx of (relatively) cheap and easily accessible RA or RA-equivalent credits found or otherwise made available.
There are about 40 TECEPs available. That's a pretty good chunk of exams to classify without much information at the moment.

We should start seeing people posting their TECEP exam results shortly.
Some useful information would be
- What materials did you use to study?
- How many hours did you study for?
- What did you score on the TECEP sample questions?
- What did you score on the final exam?

What practice exam? Does TESU have a practice one or just the sample questions in the syllabus?

Ah, that's a shame. But I'm glad I wasn't missing something obvious.
I added a table of TECEPs to the wiki: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Th...am_Program
TECEPs, such as Network Technology, that are more difficult and require extra explanations/study/etc. can also have their own separate wiki page.

If you want to take more TECEPs but don't have good places for the credits right now, contact advising ASAP to add some degrees or certificates.
Confirming. I signed up for three TECEPs for the October term. Advising emailed me to tell me that one of them did not apply to my degree plans and would be dropped. Which is a shame because I needed the RA credit.

Pick a different TECEP or add a certificate that the TECEP would apply to.

It's not automatic, and it's a bit of a pain, so here's what you need to do:
- Download a PDF of your student ID from TESU. For whatever reason, this may not be sufficient for the Spotify verification service. Mine got kicked back for "no valid date"??? Sooo...
- Open Student Self Service (where you sign up for TECEPs). Click on "Step 2".
- Click on "Go to Plan & Schedule"
- Use the arrow buttons to navigate to September (or October) 2023. Click on "Print".
- Take a screenshot or print-to-PDF this page.
- Sign into Spotify on your desktop and go to Premium. Choose Spotify for Students.
- It will ask for your basic information about where you're attending school, etc.
- Don't bother to try to attempt the automatic verification. TESU hasn't set up their system to allow this to work.
- Upload BOTH your student ID card and your schedule.
- Wait 5-10 minutes for verification to be processed, then pay for your new Spotify Premium - Student.
- Link or create your Hulu account.
- Enjoy!
Nice! Thanks.

Been racking my brain trying to figure out what else I could use. Was going to take the Intro to Critical Reasoning TECEP, but that req is already filled, so that's the one they dropped. I've already got over 100 credits and there's not a lot of slots left to fill. The other two I'm taking are the Intro to Comparitive Politics and Federal Income Taxation.

If you really want to take the PHI-1300 TECEP, add a Philosophy BA to your degree plan. https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...hilosophy/
If you already have two BA degrees on your plan, say that you're thinking of switching but you don't want to remove any degrees until you make up your mind.
