Just looking for some options to upper level credits and ACP providers
So, I was looking into Study.com options and couldn't find the answer in their FAQ.
I emailed them about failing a college accelerator class and their response below.
Thank you for reaching out to us! That's a great question!
Yes, you are able to retake an exam if you do not pass it. There is a 3 day wait period for a retake. However, please note that the retake will count towards the total of 2 permitted exams every 30 days. So, you are welcome to take an exam for 1 course twice within a 30 day period. Or, you can take 1 exam for 2 different courses within a 30 day period. Either way, the exam total is 2.
Hypothetically, lets say I take Biology 101, and I fail the first time. I can retake that exam in 3 days. When I retake Biology 101, that uses the 2 exams I have for that 30 day period. If I also want to take the Psychology 101 exam, I would need to wait until 30 days after I took the first exam to be eligible .
It is a recurring monthly membership, so you would only be charged for the next month of membership if you do not cancel the account. It can be cancelled at anytime, but you will need to have an active account at the time that you take an exam.
I hope this provides some clarification.
Best regards,
The Study.com Team

Makes sense. They want their money. I had considered them, and still may for 2 LL courses.. but when I considered them before, had considered for 4 courses, and wondered if it was possible to just create another account with my real name, address, etc, and just a new email address, and take 2 exams with one account, and the final 2 exams with the other account, in order to get 4 done in one month.
That said, you mentioned looking at UL credit options. I don't believe Study.com offers any upper level. ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training
Have you taken all the applicable DSST Exams? Exam Fact Sheets | DSST | Get College Credit
Excelsior told a friend of mine that even through Ethics in America and World Religion are LL per ACE, that Excelsior will probably be taking them as UL for awhile to come.

Thanks, you are correct that they don't offer upper level credit courses.
However, it really all depends on the receiving institutions as well.
I am trying to find courses from sources that will go in as upper level.
Some places such as Charter Oak and Thomas Edison will for a few.
Charter Oak State College
Thomas Edison State College
There are some Saylor and Straighterline courses that are also UL when transferred.
I can save a bundle if I can get the AOS this way, but it's going to be hard.

I took two study.com courses (abnormal psychology, and research methods), both were evaluated as UL by TESU.
Looking at their transfer charts for specific schools, this was not a one-off: many of their courses are accepted at the upper level.

Someone on here specifically asked that, and the answer was YES, you can create 2 separate accounts and take 4 exams in 1 month.

Dang, that's awesome! People can finish a lot faster than expected then.
I always thought it would have been 2/month. That's great to know!

But wouldn't the person have to pay another $200 for the second account?

It's $200/mo for the college credit plan, if you get someone to refer you you get a discount, I think 15% or so. I wonder if you can just refer yourself for the second account?

You're still going to have to pay $200 per 2 course exam for credit. It's the time spent that you're saving essentially.
Basically, if that is true, someone can finish 12 credits instead of the 6 in one month time instead of 2 months.
