National Emergency Training Center (NFA)

training facility that offers training opportunities in all-hazards leadership, command, prevention, and emergency

campus in Emmitsburg, MD, the two institutions maintain nineteen fully-equipped classrooms and can
accommodate up to 1,000 students with housing for more than 540.
The National Fire Academy, in partnership with State and metropolitan fire service organizations, offers on- and
off-campus courses, including web delivery through NFA Online.
Both institutions develop and deliver training sponsored by the program offices in the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Thanks for the information, not just for me but for others.

I'm still considering the regular FEMA courses, even if not applicable for credit. I just realized I can probably use them as professional CEUs in a few of the categories my professional organization requires. I'm going to be checking with them, also.

Can you explain how this works regarding CEU's? FEMA credits?, etc.

There definitely was a posting of FEMA credits taken as independent study and exact steps of how to get them transcribed.

It was the gentleman that graduated with an online degree (very young---congrats to him again, I think he is 17), and is now interning at a state office or something.

I cannot remember who that member is, but maybe they (sor someone who knows who this is) can help us out.

Thanks.

CEUs and College Credits table
The above link will let you see how many CEUs each class is worth.

To get them transcribed you need to download a transcript request form in the PDF format, print it, fill it out, and send it in.

Here is their official explanation (I bolded the URL and links for you):

Self Help Guide: Filling out a Transcript Request form & Submitting your request to the Independent Study Program.
Student Transcript- Is a complete document that includes your personal identification information, course numbers and titles, completion dates and the number of contact hours and/or applicable continuing education units. This document is mailed to the student’s address that is provided on the request form. Official Transcript- Is a complete document that includes your personal identification information, course numbers and titles, completion dates and the number of contact hours and/or applicable continuing education units. This document requires a student signature to release your training record to the designated institution. Follow these instructions below to request/submit your transcript request:

I think the member you were looking for was Farmerboy. He graduated college before highschool and is interning at the capital of his state or something like that.

I'm glad it helped.
