I am just taking clep and dantes test right now to earn credits and have not decided where I will be taking my credits for my degree. Mostlikely it will be Excelsior. I am taking Ethics in America tomorrow morning and was wondering if anyone knew what colleges you have to take the essay part of the exam? I don't want to opt not to take it or have the test center tell me I do not have to take it and wined up realizing later that I was supposed to.

Hi 50,
You definitely DON'T need the essay portion at Excelsior. They don't require the essay portion on ANY of the DANTES/CLEP exams.
Also, the essays are not graded by DANTES. Instead, they are sent to the school you are actually enrolled in, and graded by the school's own faculty. Since you don't have a school picked out yet, it would obviously be impossible for this to happen. So that hopefully answers your question with absolute certainty.
Just complete all the multiple choice and yes/no questions. Ignore the essay questions completely.
Do well tomorrow 50!
Good luck,
Snazzlefrag
My name is Rob

Excelsior doesn't require the essay portion for this or any of the DANTES exams. Good luck!

Hi 50,
Just wondering how you think your Ethics test went last week? Did you feel like InstantCert helped you a lot? What else did you use to study?
If you have any tips about specific areas to be sure to study, etc., I'd love to hear them, as I am planning on taking this test in a couple weeks.
Thanks, and let us know when you get your score!

that morning of the test, but if I had been in the RIGHT frame of mind I would have to say that IC definately helped. Definately know your people and what they feel. From what I had read about the test on this board, everyone was right on.
I will let you know what I get my results. Xing my fingers.
