Easiest major in BABA?
#1
It's me again sorry guys  Big Grin

I looked at the wiki degree plans but still confused.
I would like to go for BABA but can't decide on the major. Which would be fastest/easiest to complete if I want to take all the major requirements at UMPI nd not bother with Study.com.
I've looked at project management or marketing or leadership. Which would be the least labor intensive in terms of writing papers? Open to other suggestions as well of couse.

Thanks!

ss20ts has said that Marketing is probably the hardest. From what others have said, Project Management and Leadership sound relatively straightforward.

It really depends on the person and what their interests are, if you really want to go for a specific concentration, I would go that route. So, it's back in your court, which of the concentrations interest you most? A course could be "easy" for someone who knows the subject well, and can be "hard" for one who is a novice at it... again, it is all relative to that person only.

Wonder how many posts have been entitled: Easiest Course, Easiest Bachelors, Easiest Master, Easiest Ph.D.
No Exam Degree, Not a lot of Writing Degree and the best Cheapest Degree.

So many factors come into play with how fast someone can finish a course, and watching my father crush his bachelor's and master proved that anything is possible; it also confirmed that some people will make things look much more manageable than reality. More people are not finishing their degree fast and cheap or finishing at all. It would be more beneficial to identify your strengths and create the shortest path for you vs. drafting off someone else's story that you might drown trying to accomplish.

In direct response to your question, just in connection to transfer value, my experience and I have run an evaluation of each BABA; I would rank them in this order:

BABA Management & Leadership (allows for the cleanest transfer credit (BABA) with Sophia, StraighterLine, Study.com)
BABA Project Management (Sophia, StraighterLine, Study.com / can fill in some gaps with Coursera Google Analytics (3 UL / 6 LL credits)
BABA Supply Chain Management (slightly less transfer vs. PM due to PM accepting BUS 245 for Coursera Google Analytics)
BABA Marketing (After reviewing my evaluation, it just seemed like extra work vs. value)

The best part of this forum is the resources, and as mentioned, the wiki breakdown is exceptional in providing clarity on the path for each degree. In addition, by reading through the forum, note what degrees are being completed and discussed the most. There may be a tell in there.

All very true, I should have ben clearer in my question I suppose. :p

I know UMPI is quite writing heavy but from what I gather reading through the threads some courses are downright nightmarish while others have a 2-5page paper at the end and that is it.
I hate writing and like exams so if possible would go for the degree option with the least amount of writing involved.
As for familiarity, I work on computer hardware so I doubt many if any courses subject matter I would be familiar with which is why that's not a big consideration for me.
I also plan on only transferring in Sophia and maybe a couple Instacert and a couple SDC (SDC because I need to take something with a lab) courses and take the rest at UMPI. Not sure if this is a crazy idea or not but using SDC seems like a waste of money for courses I could do at UMPI since I'm expecting to need a couple of terms there anyway.

@Ksoul is it even worth bothering with the Coursera certs? Wouldn't it be easier to just take the courses at UMP?

Fair question. If there is an added value for your career to earn the cert, it feels like an easy yes. If you are new to data analytics, there are countless more efficient ways to earn nine credits. @ss20ts  has shared the difficulty in navigating BUS 245, so, there is an added bonus securing the cert, especially, if you can use 6 additional business electives and are doing the BABA in Project Management.

As for SDC, since your need Biology Lab and SDC is the most efficient way to earn it, this is an easy call. To max out the cost, make sure to secure an additional Upper-Level course that can be used in your degree. Remember, you can add three additional courses in a month for $70 each. In these example that would be:

1. SDC $200 membership, Bio Virtual Lab $69 total $269
2. SDC $200 membership, Bio Virtual Lab $69 total $269, $70 x 3 additional courses total $479

If option two helps you avoid an additional term at UMPI, the math is simple on the value for SDC.

Based on the courses, Management and Leadership is the easiest BABA. Marketing is way more difficult than the others. There are several LONG projects/papers and the professors are difficult. They are not as generous with grading as the other business professors. If you want to avoid Study then you're going to need to take the lab science at UMPI which we do NOT recommend at all. The lab sciences on Study are MUCH easier and faster. You won't have to dissect an owl pellet. You won't dissect anything as Study utilizes a virtual lab. UMPI has multiple lab reports and the course is a mess. You will find very, very few exams at UMPI. More than 75% of their courses require a paper/project for the Final Assessment. Most aren't 3-5 pages either. They're usually longer like 5-7. Some even longer. Marketing has papers that are 10-15 pages, 15+, and 15+ and that's only 3 of the 8 courses for the concentration. There is 1 exam in the concentration.
