Can any one confirm that they have managed to transfer in Western civilization I & II from SL, as equivalent of World civilization I & II - HTY 115 & HTY 116 at UMPI?
I am a little unsure about doing these courses at SL if they only transfer in as general electives.
Thank you to every one for taking the time to respond to my question.

This is what the transfer database shows:
CIV 101
Western Civilization I
HTY 1XX
History Elective
GLO5:LOB
CIV 102
Western Civilization II
HTY 1XX
History Elective
GLO5:LOB
They are NOT HTY115 or HTY116 according to the database at UMPI.

They are NOT HTY115 or HTY116 according to the database at UMPI. Ok, thx. This is very confusing. At SL: https://www.straighterline.com/colleges/...uivalency/
it says they do transfer in as HTY 115 & 116. I guess SL are untrustworthy or not up to date.
The Wiki History degree plan says the same: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan.
I suppose that these degree plans are quite unreliable as well.

I didn't try to transfer in StraighterLine classes, but I can tell you with certainty that Study.com's Western Civilization I & II transfer in as 1XX electives and are not counted toward the World Civilization requirements. I suspect the same is true with StraighterLine.

On the Study.com equivalency guide, it does say those courses come in as electives. So I wouldn't suggest taking those courses at SDC.

I made that UMPI history degree plan so if someone reports that a course doesn't come in as expected, I'll try to update it.
I would also suggest double-checking the equivalency guides to make sure nothing changed from the time the degree plan was made to the current date.

You can check with UMPI and see what they say. The transfer database doesn't show them coming in as HTY115 & 116. I know that over hte last year UMPI has updated quite a few ACE courses and changed how they transfer in.

Is the "transfer database" you mention something only UMPI advisors can access and use to confirm classes with us or is this something we can see somewhere?
Like the OP I'm trying to figure out possible transfer courses that I can start taking in April because I likely won't be starting at UMPI until July. I had these StraighterLine courses as possible transfer candidates too.

I have access to the transfer database as a student. I'm not sure if there's a way to view it outside of a MaineStreet account. You can pm me courses I can search for you.
The database does say that the Western Civ courses fill the GEC requirements. They don't look like they will fill the History major requirements though. StraighterLine has many errors on their site. There are a bunch of business courses that transfer to UMPI and they're not listed on the StraighterLine website. It's weird!
TECEP
World History from 1600 to Present
This isn't in the database. Doesn't look like anyone has tried to transfer it yet.
SL
Survey of World History
Transfers as a history elective:
CIV 103
Survey of World History
HTY 1XX
History Elective
GLO5:LOB
PennFoster
World Civilizations
Nothing from PennFoster is in the database.
U of Idaho Independent Study
HIST101: World History I
HIST102: World History II
BINGO!!! Here's how these transfer:
HIST 101
World History I
HTY 115
World Civilization I
GLO5:LOB

HIST 102
History of Civilization
HTY 116
World Civilization II
GLO5:LOB
