Can anyone point me in the right direction. I've heard alot of talk about FEMA courses but I really have no idea where to go. How much are they to take? Can I take the exam from home or do I need to get to a national testing center? Will they be accepted by TESC? If they are accepted by TESC will they count towards my General Ed requirements for a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Alright, not on the road anymore.
Here is the FEMA overview
Emergency Management Institute - FEMA Independent Study Program FAQs
Here is the list of courses
Emergency Management Institute - FEMA Independent Study Program essentially stick with ones marked for college credit, though there is a specific TESC list somewhere.
My favorite classes to start with are the FEMA PDS series, you get a snazzy certificate and everything
Its here

They are free to take, do from home in your jammies. Take as fast as you like. TESC (I believe) accepts them directly from FEMA once your enrolled...you just send a transcript from FEMA once your done with them all.
These are typically used as LL electives, if there is an exception to that I'm sure someone will chime in and let us know.
Good Luck!

TESC definitely gives credit for FEMA courses; you'll need to check their catalog to see which ones they accept. I took 27 FEMA courses and TESC applied 21 of those credits to the Free Electives section of my degree plan.
Rebel is right. I checked my evaluation and all the FEMA courses were listed as Lower Level, except one.

Here is the link to the thread by SandraNC (forum member who created an awesome listing of TESC equivalencies).
