The clackamus option is attractive too.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

This is going to sound crazy, but I'd advise my son against any school using the quarter unit system. It's a royal PITA forever moving forward. Now, if he were in a system and finished the BA, then it's not a big deal- but we need to look at the AA/AS now, and transfer later, so no way I want him going from quarters into a school like COSC or TESU- they use decimals in their conversion, they don't round.

I agree the Semester vs Quarter is a pain in the a@@ if you are switching between the two. Easier to go from SH to Qtr and NOT the other way around. Excelsior when it was USNY would count a course as an equal (MGT101 3 SH vs MGT101 3 Qtr) in the old days. Not sure about now. I know TESU will not.

I don't know about COSC (Jennifer says they don't round up), but even though TESU does not round up, they do count the requirement as being fulfilled. They will allow you to make up the extra credits in the gen ed electives or free electives. I have quarter hours from Colorado Technical University. Also, even though this course is offered in semester hours, TESU counts the Insurance Institute ethics course as fulfilling the 3-credit ethics requirement when it is only 2 credits. Additionally, TESU gave me an exception for a missing UL credit for a 2-credit TEEX course in the area of study. Sometimes, you have to ask for the exceptions if the system doesn't catch it, but I've been getting them automatically.

That is interesting as last year a USCG Veteran in my office was pulling his hair out with TESC as they would NOT waive 3 or 4 (0.33) short in exact courses and he was not allowed to just take a few extra general ed credits?

I ended up less than 3 credits shy of graduating from COSC for this very reason. Ended up scrambling to take the DSST Civil War at the last minute. Quarter horse really can throw a wrench in things.

I'm currently enrolled. I didn't have any issues in 2011, and I don't have any issues now.

Yeah, considering this is generally done automatically by TESU without even asking for it, I'm curious as to how he would have run in to these problems.

Disregard, answered my own
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.
Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.
